  1. My daughter loves Sara Ogilvie's Dogs Don't do Ballet and Rhinos Don't eat Pancakes. Also Shirley Hughes Alfie stories and the Princess Poppy series. She also likes the Rainbow Fairies stories.
  2. My daughter also went to GG nursery. We loved it. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were great. She thrived there and still sees her friends she made there. We moved onto a different prmary school but we all still miss Goose Green. You are very lucky to have a place there in my opinion!
  3. Borgen is great and Damages. The Wire is amazing too I think.
  4. My daughter is in reception there. We are very happy so far and most importantly she loves going to school. It's a small and friendly school. Her teacher is excellent.
  5. Roca Nivaria in Tenerife and Prince Yaiza in Lanzarote both lovely - good size family room and lovely kids clubs/pools/beach etc!
  6. Gripe water can help. It's fine for babies over one month old.
  7. Oaken.
  8. We have one child in reception at Horniman and so far it has been great. Prior to that she went to Goose Green Nursery which was also wonderful and I recommend both schools highly.
  9. I also had Hyperemesis - it was without any question the hardest time in my life. I tried all the antiemetic drugs but mothing worked at all except lying still and time passing really. I have heard good things of people trying Ondansetron or low dose steroids as a treatment- there is an excellent female Obstetrician at Lewisham Hospital who runs a Hyperemesis service- it might be worth asking to see her. I hope you feel better soon- you have my full sympathy!
  10. Thank you for all your kind messages of support I did report it to the police and they were amazing The guy had brown/blonde hair yes It wasnt even an expensive phone and I wasnt using it- just putting it back into my bag at the time!
  11. It was outside Cabrini House- I think that is its name- opposite the bus stop- nearly at the junction with Honor Oak Rise.
  12. Just a note to please be careful. I was walking back from Honor Oak station yesterday at 5pm and putting my phone in my bag when a young skinny tall white guy ran from behind and grabbed my phone - twisting my hand to make me drop it. So please be careful with your phones and yourselves everyone.
  13. Me too- havent played for years but used to love it.
  14. Really sorry to hear this- we live on the same street- thanks for posting the warning.
  15. Anyone else interested?
  16. We would be interested -9 am sounds good.
  17. We have been allocated a place here for September and are very pleased. I don't know anyone there at present and as the School has no Nursery there must be others in the same boat I guess. I wondered if any new starters would like to meet over summer so our little ones knew a few faces come September. If so please feel free to pm me ... we could maybe meet in the park or people would be most welcome to my house for tea and cake!
  18. We got second choice-Horniman- very pleased.
  19. We just had a party at the Herne- the food was delicious and the conservatory room at the back is a nice space and if the weather is nice you have the garden to use too. I have also been to a party at the Florence which was great.
  20. I think Goose Green is improving rapidly and has a great Head. Personally I prefer Goose Green over Goodrich. My little one has been in Goose Green's nursery for a year and she is thriving there. I sense a real commitment from people I talk to involved with the school to really drive standards up and to continue all the positive changes that have already occurred.
  21. I can highly recommend the dermatologists at Kings- they saw me with a mystery rash in pregnancy. They were excellent so I would suggest being referred to see them. I saw Dr Creamer who was superb.
  22. I really feel for you prdarling. We had exactly the same experience with Fairlawn Nursery- they offered us a place at 4pm one day and wanted a reply by 9am the next morning. Our daughter was already at Goose Green nursery and thriving there. We made the decision to stay at Goose Green. For school places next year Fairlawn is our first choice as it is our closest community school. I think as people have said children do adapt and you loved the school so I would go for Fairlawn. I wish you luck with your decision. I hope we have a similar choice of two lovely schools come September!
  23. I second the pound shop on Rye Lane- loads of christmas decorations.
  24. Zoe- thanks for your feedback re Horniman- its on my list but I am not sure we will get in there. It sounds quite similar to Ivydale which I went to see last week- it was also quite laidback, lots of free and imaginative playtime etc I would be thrilled to get into either!
