  1. Or you could give them a good ten year old bottle of wine?
  2. Yes my kids were there yesterday and are back again today. They just adore it there. There are some older children - my daughter made friends with an 11 year old boy and there are teenagers who help out. maryhenley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've just picked my two children up from DKHAP. > They had a brilliant day, even with the awful rain > all this morning. 3. make something healthy that includes vegetables that my kids will actually eat (goal not always achieved - depends whether sausages/ home made beefburgers/ pizza count as healthy!)

  5. There's plenty to do and see nearby in Kent as well - Hever Castle, Ightham Mote - beaches at Broadstairs and Botany Bay, lovely walking and countryside Also in East Sussex - Rye, Camber Sands, Bodium Castle, lots lots more
  6. My two (9 and 5) spent two days at the DKHAP playscheme over the Easter holidays and they absolutely loved it. They can't wait to go again next week. I warmly recommend it.
  7. The weather forecast for Friday looks fine!
  8. Sounds great- tempted to take the kids down there over the bank holiday weekend. Do you usually stay down there or just go for the day? 9. The Moogoo range is amazing for sensitive skin -we love the milk wash and cream in our household http://moogooskincare.co.uk/
  10. Happened right near where I live. I heard sirens then an almighty bang - police chased the driver through our gardens but he escaped somewhere along the train lines. I really hope the police officer involved is ok.
  11. We had a lovely day at Emmetts Gardens on Friday - the weather was glorious. Will definitely be going back and hope to persuade the kids to do a longer walk!

  14. I lived in Venice for a year so know it well. I have a list of places saved on trip advisor- just need to work out how to share it with others! Agree that corte sconta is amazing although I haven't been there for years. Funnily enough I'm also going there next month. I'll post some links tonolacrsnonce I'm on a pc tomorrow

I have been looking at the area around Le Pradet, just east of Toulon, which looks nice, but it would be great to have some local insight.
  16. I've just started a similar thread as I'm going down that way in the summer. You could do a trip to the Ile de Porquerolles which looks beautiful and wouldn't be too busy then. I think you can get a boat from Toulon. I've also been looking at places around Le Pradet which looks nice for beaches. I'll be interested to hear how you got on after the trip!

  18. Thanks. Do you know a bit further along the coast around Hyeres?
  19. Friendly forumite advice requested please! I am planning a summer holiday for myself and my two children (5 and 9) for the end of August - taking the Eurostar down to Marseille. So far I've just booked the train tickets - I've been looking at airbnb and campsites for accommodation, but would really appreciate some pointers from people who know the area and have been on holiday there before. Ideally I'd like to avoid hiring a car and go somewhere we can reach by train - either one place or a couple of different destinations as we are going for 10 days. I'm after somewhere near a nice sandy beach, maybe with a pool as well, as cheap as possible as I'm on a strict budget. I've been looking at Presqu'Ile de Giens and some places near Marseille like Bandol and La Ciotat but I've no idea what they're really like. Can anyone help?
  20. I don't see why TFL can't extend the route as proposed, but keep using single deckers rather than double deckers.
  21. The best way to clean the machine (the whole thing, not just the rubber) is to run an empty hot wash with a bit of bio powder detergent. If the rubber seal still looks bad after that and it bothers you, then you can get it replaced.
  22. I'd like to get a Smiggle pencil case for my daughter's birthday but don't think I'll be able to make it to the store in Bromley and am resistant to paying ?4.50 for delivery. It's a long shot, but is anyone likely to be shopping there in the next week who could pick one up for me - I would be forever grateful and could provide some chocolate as a thank you.
  23. BrandNewGuy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is a double decker wider than the current single > decker 42s? Sunray Avenue has similar parking > issues. Yes but currently only the 42 goes down (and not up) Sunray Avenue, whereas Red Post Hill already has the P4 going both ways and the 42 going up.
  24. Thanks for this - I have responded via the online survey. I am in favour and also thought that this had already been agreed some time ago, however I cannot see how a double decker will be able to use Red Post Hill, even if the traffic islands are removed - it is very narrow with cars parked on both sides and I can imagine tail backs and hold ups if there are double deckers having to pass from opposite directions, or indeed a double decker and the P4 or large truck.
