Hi, I lived in Crossthwaite Avenue for 4 years and wouldn't say it was rough at all - I always felt comfortable coming home in the dark late at night. You do get a few kids from the estate misbehaving occassionally (they used to climb onto my hedge and sometimes into my garden - did a bit of damage to the hedge but no malicious harm, letting off fireworks in teh street around bonfire night, that kind of thing) but other than that it's fine and a very handy location in that you're so close to dulwich, denmark hill and camberwell. Good luck with the house hunting! -

My three top gigs were all at London Astoria (RIP) - can't remember the exact years but I think between 1988 and 1991: Sub Pop triple bill - Nirvana, Mudhoney, Tad (the occasion of my one and only stage dive!) Red Hot Chili Peppers - saw them quite a few times around the time they released "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" and this was the best, they were such fun to dance to Jane's Addiction - totally awesome, couldn't believe a band of four could produce such a huge noise. I wonder if they'll come to play in the UK again now they've reformed with the original line-up?

My lovely mum wouldn't say it to me directly, so she used to remind me that her mum was always telling her "I want never gets" I remember a friend's mum telling us "a bored person is a boring person" - frankly I think she was too lazy to find ways to entertain us and was trying to make herself look better!
