  1. ok, just checked channel4.com and it says series 2 will be back in the summer. Can't wait until then, so I guess I'll just have to hang on until lovefilm have the dvd in may. I have just realised I still have two more episodes to watch from series 1 though - yay!
  2. Yes, I know, but I only just finished series 1 on dvd and I've already missed the first two from the new series on tv. Also, it's on a bit late for me! I'm hooked - can anyone help?
  3. This is a long shot, but does anyone have this on DVD that I could borrow in exchange for a bottle of wine/chocolates? Pretty please?
  4. Hi there, I'm due mid-September. Working full time but in denmark hill close to east dulwich so could always make it for a lunchtime get together in the week. It would be fun to meet up!
  5. Hi Kate I will be taking maternity leave later this year and my company maternity policy specifically states that if I don't return to work I will have to return the 18 weeks full pay I am entitled to. I think they will also get me to sign a letter acknowledging this before I go on leave.
  6. For facial moisturiser Superdrug do a very nice and affordable range called Purity Organic Skincare - no parabens, fragrance or other nasties. I use their anti-ageing moisturiser and it's very nice.
  7. They're called Sid and Andy. Don't you love it when they do their number "raps" with accompanying "street" moves. Bless them. ryedalema Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > > Hasn't anyone mentioned the CBeebies presenters > yet? 8. Thanks for all your suggestions. I would let it all hang out if on holiday at the beach, but this is for swimming lengths, so I don't think a bikini would be so suitable! I'll check out next, blooming marvellous and mamas & papas
  9. I am soon going to have to cave in and get a maternity swimsuit and just wondered if any of you had recommendations for any good ones. I always find it difficult to find cossies that fit (tall, long body) - anyone else in the same position who found a good one?
  10. What about Aveeno creams/lotions. Not sure about parabens etc but most are unfragranced or very lightly fragranced and they are very moisturising. You can find them in sainsburys and superdrug - they were on offer very recently and might still be
  11. I'm with Rhubarb&Custard on Andy. I always thought Sportacus looked a bit short! And he's far too goody goody
  12. Hi all, thanks for your replies. I know, rusty pipe syndrome is such an absurd term to use. I'm actually feeling far less anxious about it since reading up on the net, but I will still consult my GP/midwife. Millsa - sorry to hear about your very painful breasts. Mine were very sore for my first pregnancy and increased in size a fair bit, but this time there is very little change (apart from the strange leaks!, and maybe a bit fuller). I think it's fairly common to get painful breasts, especially during early pregnancy, but you can always ask your midwife if you're worried. If it's any consolation, my breasts calmed down first time round by the time I was about 4 months. So are you also due mid-september? Maybe we can meet up with the newbies when the time comes! How old is your first?
  13. Hi, I would love to come but Fridays are always difficult for me as my partner works weekday evenings. I'll see if I can manage to persuade my parents to babysit (maybe she could even stay over with them and I could get a whole night off and a lie-in - now there's a thought!)
  14. I don't remember about bubble bath in the bathwater, but I started washing my daughter's hair with baby shampoo (holding her wrapped in a towel over the sink - quite tricky!) when she was quite tiny - definitely less than 3 months. Does that help? I used to use Aveeno baby oil in the bath when she was very little - smelt yummy and seemed to help clean her up. Also Aveeno baby milk on cotton wool for those tricky "cheesy" bits in their fat creases!
  15. ok, I've just been googling. Sounds like it could be something called "rusty pipe syndrome", and not something more sinister. Has anyone else experienced this?
  16. Please stop reading now if you are squeamish/ easily offended! I 14 weeks pregnant with my second. With my first I had very leaky breasts and started leaking yellow colostrum when I was about 4 months pregnant. This time, I have noticed a bit of brown leakage from one nipple for the last couple of weeks (on a tissue, it actually looks the same colour as poo ::o). I am going to see the doctor about it , but to hopefully allay any fears of breast cancer etc I wanted to ask if any of you lovely folks out there had experienced this, or knew if it was a common occurrence! Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
  17. in italy it's called the scirocco - a wind that comes from the saharan desert, bringing sand with it. When I lived in Naples the worst was when the scirocco was combined with rain - dirty red sandy stuff everywhere. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ???? 18. I have to disagree about the bedside manner - I had my 12 week scan at Kings last week and the polish research doctor who did the blood tests and most of the scan was absolutely charming - used humour to put me and my partner at ease, let us know everything that he was looking at/measuring and when we asked letting us know whether they were in the normal range or not. I felt that they were extremely thorough and was so reassured by their manner. We both left on such a high and with big smiles on our faces.
  19. Hi Sanne Panne - I have some size 4+ pampers baby dry you would be welcome to try - not sure if the size will work for you though? My daughter is 3, 13kg and not so chunky and they are amply big enough for her.
  20. I've always found Pampers baby dry to be the most absorbent for my daughter - have tried Huggies (hopeless, gave her a rash), Pampers active fit (not as good as baby dry) and various pull-ups.
  21. My daughter didn't start having 2 hour naps until she was almost two. She started off with 3 naps max 45 mins but often shorter, then progressed to two of an hour each if I was lucky, and then finally she moved to one blissful nap of 2, sometimes 2.5 hours. Now of course she is 3 and starting to drop her nap altogether :'(
  22. I am so fussy about coffee, and was amazed when I found the very best espresso outside of Naples at Scoop in Melbourne Grove. If you like your coffee traditional italian style then I urge you to give them a go.
