Hello all, I am still planning to come on sunday. Yes, I am fed up with being pregnant second-time around - am wondering how on earth I can manage another two months with a bump like this and how can I keep working until the end of August?? I am weirdly hoping that the baby will come early (but not too early, obviously)

Anyone know a good Brazilian waxer?!
sanity girl replied to MightyMouse's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I recently used Emma of Emma's Beauty - she has lots of recommendations on the beautician thread on here. I didn't have a brazilian, but she was very good, quick and took a fair bit off, so I would trust her to do a brazilian -
Best stain removal for baby clothes?
sanity girl replied to Saffron's topic in The Family Room Discussion
rinse with water and give a quick rub with some soap asap, then in the wash as usual - dry in the sun if possible. Banana is a nightmare and won't come out! -
Definitely a maclaren techno xlr - can be used from newborn as lies flat and will last all the way through to toddler - within budget, hard-wearing, easy to close/ manoeuvre etc

So sorry to hear about this Fuschia and hope it all goes ok today. xx

Sunscreen Recommendations please
sanity girl replied to tiddles's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Superdrug roll on suncream for kids - fairly cheap, really easy to apply, not too greasy and doesn't have an overpowering smell -
Just to say Christian (EDF username Netquest) sorted the problem for me really quickly. I would definitely recommend his service to anyone else having problems with their laptop.

Potty training - any top tips?
sanity girl replied to Vickster's topic in The Family Room Discussion
If anyone wants one of those Thomas the Tank engine potty training seats from mothercare I have one which we ended up never using - my daughter was happy to just sit straight on the loo. Just PM me if you'd like it! -
I can't believe it - having pleaded for a saturday, because my OH is usually at home then, he has now been given a shift on saturday evening and my parents can't babysit - damn! Really sorry to miss this again and hope I can make the next one

What's it really like to live in Dulwich?
sanity girl replied to jsmith's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My parents live closer to Dulwich Village, so maybe it's more the case for that area and there has been a higher turnaround of residents in East Dulwich which has the smaller 2/3 bedders like you say -
Hi, thanks for that. Any idea where I could get the laptop looked at to get that kind of repair done? And if it is replacing the mains socket, roughly how much does that cost?

What's it really like to live in Dulwich?
sanity girl replied to jsmith's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, I thought that was an odd comment too. I grew up in Dulwich and I am back living here now. I love it - it's a great place to grow up, loads of lovely green spaces but still close to central london. My parents are still living in Dulwich in the house they bought almost 40 years ago, where I grew up, and the same goes for many people in their road. -
I wonder if anyone can help - I have an HP Pavilion laptop, bought in Italy about 5 years ago - the computer itself seems ok still, but it keeps switching itself off and I think this is due to a bad connection with the charger (the battery gave up the ghost long ago). I tried a new charger (supposedly offical HP one but I have my doubts) bought on ebay but it doesn't work at all. Does anyone have any experience of this - is it worth trying another new charger or could it be something more sinister wrong with the laptop itself or perhaps the internal connection to the power supply? I'm hoping I don't have to end up buying a new laptop but can solve this another way.

Book recommendation for 5 yr old and 3 yr old
sanity girl replied to alieh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There's a fun book called Pirate Girl which might be good for the 5 year old. The Mog books are always a winner. My daughter particularly loves "Mog's Bad Thing". For the 3 year old what about Aliens Love Underpants? Pretty popular though, so they may already have it. Also the Richard Scarry's "What do people do all day" is fantastic - both for 3 and 5 year olds. -
car hire with child seats, advice please
sanity girl replied to 180176's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I also had problems getting a car seat in Naples - they didn't have the right size when we picked up the car. We ended up buying a cheap one locally - only cost 10 euros more than the price the hire company quoted for hiring one for a week! It might be worth just taking your car seat with you? -
Sunday 11th July fine for me. I think for those of us who already have kids, venue will really depend on whether we are planning to do our first meet up with or without little ones. If with kids then somewhere like Dulwich Park cafe would be ideal. What does everyone think? Eventually I would hope that those of us with children the same age will find that they can get on and play together...
