The tree felling in Brockwell park has been investigated by one of the local councillors. There are over 1,600 trees in Brockwell park and every year, after assessment ( i.e. danger, disease, age etc.) a number are felled, this is accompanied by a tree planting programme to replace all felled trees. It is a rolling programme and not done because of festivals. https://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2024/05/campaigners-question-lambeth-councils-plans-to-immediately-remove-44-trees-in-brockwell-park/

Strictly Dan, playing the music of Steely Dan again at the East Dulwich Tavern! We loved playing at this large and popular pub when we played it for the first time last June and we’re delighted to be back. We will be bringing our new Season 3 sets of the best of Steely Dan’s music (relatively) new and old, from their amazing back catalogue from Can’t Buy A Thrill onwards and including their greatest songs from their best-loved albums. This year there will still be seating at the front for those who want it (and can turn up early) but more room for the audience to get to the bar, (and even dance!) as we were sold out for this event last year. Advance Tickets are available on Eventbrite at £15 plus booking fee - unchanged from last year - or on the door on the night. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/strictly-dan-playing-the-music-of-steely-dan-tickets-845845977087?aff=ebdssbdestsearch

untilStrictly Dan are a 12 piece band of musicians with serious jazz, rock and blues musical backgrounds, all drawn by a love of the fun and wickedness of Steely Dan's lyrics and the enjoyment and challenge of playing their brilliant and much loved Grammy-award-winning music. Come and enjoy an evening of their best songs drawn from their unrivalled back catalogue for a great night of Steely Dan music played with Strictly Dan commitment, energy and enthusiasm! On Friday 9th June we are playing a new London location for us: the East Dulwich Tavern on Lordship Lane. Its music venue is perfectly suited to our band with its cabaret style layout and own bar, with plenty of unreserved seating and room for dancing. Tickets available now on Eventbrite at £13 (plus booking fee) or £15 on the door: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/strictly-dan-playing-the-music-of-steely-dan-tickets-568253520577

What do 16 year olds like to do in London?
beck replied to alice's topic in The Family Room Discussion
How about Southbank? take in the Globe, Tate Modern, Golden Hind, if you can get them to visit HMS Belfast it's great even if they don't think it's their thing. then past BFI and National Theatre, and the skateboard area, then lots of great places to eat along there. -
Yes 'Wagging Tails' run classes at Albrighton community centre https://www.wtdt.co.uk/ContactVenues and Neighbourhood vets used to have someone there who ran classes but I'm not sure if they are still ongoing.
