  1. Did one last year for my boy, he loved every minute of it
  2. How is this going to work with schools on a main road?
  3. is this thread a joke? Why would it bother anyone? is it East Dulwich specific?? I've seen much worse things on trains and tubes.
  4. Actually I know a lot of right leaning journos who live in the environs. Funnily enough, journalists live in south London. Weird, eh. Who'd have thought it.
  5. Wow, that Independent piece. I find myself in none of that. Perhaps I should move to Penge.
  6. we'll be using it this easter hols - was recommended by a friend. Looks great.
  7. I've never had a car, and as a result find travelling on public transport with my 8 year old v easy as he's so used to it (and boy, have we travelled)
  8. why not just get the 12 all the way? My son was referred to the same place for the same reason and they were so lovely there - good luck
  9. I love fairy tales, have always loved fairy tales. My son loves them too. Look for Pullman's recent retelling of Grimm's fairy tales for inspiration. I'm also a fairly strong, feminist woman who loved to wear pink when I was a child and had a pink bedroom until i was 17.
  10. We went to a family mediator, based on camberwell new road. Look on relate's website, I think they're listed there. From what I can remember - apologies, it was almost 7 years ago - this service was either free or minimal. When there we agreed with a neutral person in attendance our eventual terms of access. Good luck.
  11. Ah those council tenants and their drug-dealing ways. Not.
  12. I really don't think JW is that expensive, or for 'bored women with too much money'. I wish I had the time to be bored, and I wish I had too much money! Alas not. It's a lovely shop, with lovely staff and last time we were in there my son spent 50p on a pocket money toy.
  13. brilliant
  14. soon enough for what?
  15. Yes, the gangs and criminality there surprised me too. There seemed to me a quite big gap between rich and poor.
  16. I'm a woman with strong feminist leanings and I don't understand the manifesto either
  17. Was just sharing my experience. We also have BT vision which has a library of free films as part of the package, all of which are watched on TV and also you can connect an ipad to a tv.
  18. My iPad and a subscription to Netflix suffices for me and the 8 year old.
  19. Crikey yes apologies, my mind blanked out the earthquake thing which is weird as all my in laws lost property (been a long week). My old house got a boulder through it, and according to my best mate who's now moved back and is from Christchurch the city isn't the same since. So maybe not. Lots of my friends live in Wellington and like it for the arty vibe, and I liked it, and if I were to move back to nz this is probs where I'd go Eta I really miss nz now!!
  20. Christchurch! South Island, temperate climate, easy access to the outdoors and all its beauty and adventure. And still a bit of a city life (though think more big town). I lived there for a couple of years, and also lived in Auckland which I really didn't like.
  21. You could argue the same for Stella McCartney, though
  22. but that's different to people languishing on benefits, refusing to work, which i thought was what you originally had a problem with? They're the people I've never come across, not people working for cash in hand and claiming benefits.
  23. Exactly, all these babies will grow up so there will be a demand
