  1. Looks like a bloke to me. Joke.
  2. Overground from P Rye or D Hill to Clapham High Street and then Northern Line from Clapham North which is a couple of minutes away - may have to change at Kennington but when all bits are working is surprisingly swift
  3. Ha ha ha the irony of that statement (meaning you don't exactly strike me as mr equanimity, mr jack)
  4. It was Franklins not all middle class quote that made me chuckle, the manager saying she gets 'all sorts' in her shop. Meaning what? The great unwashed? Agree with others who say they shouldve talked to the traders who've been round for longer than the past few years.
  5. Yep
  6. Seems way too small for a secondary school
  7. Will it be a Harris, James? I wish my son could just go to a state, LA-led mixed comp, not sponsored by any corporate money-making venture.
  8. Something that's happening in the country somewhere might happen here. Hmmm.
  9. Cor, I think books are the best present ever. Would love someone to give me book tokens for Chrimbo.
  10. Sounds mentally ill to me
  11. I got a haul of crafty stuff at sainsburies on dog kennel hill
  12. Much the same service from Southern then. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well she's been pretty darn good with me as my local mp, helped me a lot and given support. Would prefer her a millionfold over Boorish Johnson.
  15. I heard it was Brixton. V v sad.
  16. The woman in the coffee van at the station - she's lovely
  17. Quite a few years ago now, but I did Christchurch-heathrow on my own with 2 year old. Dubai airport was a nightmare, and emirates lost my pushchair.
  18. Poverty is alive and kicking in the UK. Agree with SJ, people in this country have become harsh. Compassion doesn't cost a thing.
  19. I occasionally get the 9 12 and that usually has seats. Good luck.
  20. An interesting article in the New York Times a couple of days ago: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/13/opinion/sunday/londons-great-exodus.html?_r=1&
  21. 'And? That makes it acceptable? That makes the perpertrators unaccountable? And that makes the victims, what?' Of course it doesn't, and the victims are victims. You miss my point, that we don't live in Trumpton Town.
  22. This all seems to be getting rather hysterical. Muggings happened when there was a police station. Muggings happened that weren't reported on here. We live in a massive and complicated city, with immense wealth side by side to poverty.
  23. I agree, and to some extent I do 'need' to be here as my son is at school here and his friends are all around. Yes, we could move out fo the area, and yes we will move, but not till the next step up the education ladder.
  24. Thirded for London Mix
  25. Try the pound shops in Peckham?
