  1. Dr Sharma at Half Moon Dental is amazing and v kind, calm and gentle with kids (and adults!)
  2. I was in a car accident in Morocco many years ago and cracked a couple of ribs, so empathise. If I was you, I'd wait till 6.30 and call SELDOC and get the prescription for painkillers that way. Best of luck.
  3. Almost 50% of year 6 children failing this year's SATs doesn't give me much faith that schools and children 'continue to thrive'. But perhaps you meant children educated in the private sector.
  4. Very well said, Working Mummy.
  5. I think council tenants are viciously dangerous. Not really, they're just like home-owners. Some are lovely, some not. Pretty soon they'll all be owner-occupied anyway,
  6. I can! Message me where you live, and I can drop round at weekend. And no need for wine or chocs.
  7. Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie had me gripped over Christmas. Also a book called The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens was perhaps one of the best books I read last year - I literally couldn't put it down: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22856128-the-mountain-story Edited to say another huge favourite of mine in 2015 was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara - it's massive, and it's very, very dark but by god, it swallowed me whole.
  8. I can understand a nod agree re kids. But a sleeping baby?! Seems a tad harsh.
  9. Call TRAID - number on their website - they come and collect. Came to pick up 4 bin bags from me couple of weeks ago
  10. Can I just say a big THANK YOU for hosting an open day on a weekend? Takes a lot of pressure off when you work full time.
  11. I had an absolutely awful reaction to the Mirena but I think that is very rare. It has transformed my best friend's life.
  12. My 10 year old son loved it, as did I - totally recommend
  13. Loving the work of Otta and Blah Blah. Hope my son doesn't end up being taught by Uncleglen. Joined the Labour Party today.
  14. My son's school arranged this for us (Goose Green). Not sure if other schools do the same.
  15. My son is an avid reader, is good at maths and can spell but has been diagonosed with dyslexia (and dyspraxia). Dyslexia can come in different manifestations. I recommend an assessment with an ed psych if you can get one.
  16. Well this health issue been going on since October and they've been good since then. Don't think much magic has been involved. Would you prefer it to close?
  17. Have been v impressed with them lately. One of the GPs has gone above and beyond for me with ongoing health problem.
  18. I've been using DHC Deep Cleansing Oil as a cleanser and it has made my skin much better. I was quite wary as my skin can be quite oily but since I've been using it haven't had any break-outs and my face looks healthier for it.
  19. After a prolonged recent illness, I have found DMC massively frustrating for all the above reasons, bar one GP who has been extraordinary and also a shout-out to a brilliant admin person there called Sandra who went above & beyond for me.
  20. Doodlemaths app on iPad is really good - it's not cheap but makes maths fun for the kids. It was designed by maths teachers and is very curriculum-based.
  21. When my son started going to stay with my ex Two Homes by Claire Masurel really helped http://www.amazon.co.uk/Two-Homes-Claire-Masurel/ though I appreciate this may not be applicable to your circumstances.
  22. I walked to near Victoria this morning also, but it took me about 1 hour 20 mins. But I am a slow walker.
  23. Perhaps the 'unruly' children are also 'gifted'.
