I teach the class on Sat mornings at Gaia. It is a mix of active standing vinyasa (postures in a sequence) so that you feel like you are doing some exercise and more gentle sitting postures with a relaxation at the end. We also include breathing of course. We have decided to reduce the class to ?11 so that ladies who don't have many weeks left to go can still get a discount without block booking. We only started 3 weeks ago. There is space for 7 women in the class (it's a small room) and the numbers are increasing - 5 last week. If you would like to attend, please let us know in advance. I hope to see you there.

Children in attic rooms - advice please
bee74 replied to pebbles's topic in The Family Room Discussion
you will be surprised at how soothing the rain noise is. my son has never woken despite having been in the attic since birth (it is also our room btw) we got a platform bed on ebay -
I can't do what Hazelnunhead did because she had already got the place in Feb - before they go and check where you actually live. So I need to go on waiting list. And what happens if he doesn't get a place at a school we want?! Could I keep my son at nursery? Or do home schooling for a year and hope for more spaces in year 1?

hazelnunhead: thank you. although i m not sure i follow. I will pm you. trish: that's good to know. phew!

yes, i can do that, but realistically we won't have the house till way past the deadline of 15th Feb, more likely April...
-
We are thinking of moving but the house is in a no man's land for primary schools: most likely choices are Ivydale or Goodrich. Any thoughts? Also we can't apply till we have got a Council Tax bill and that might not be till past April, so what to do? Thank you

Best local pub with lots of room for kids?
bee74 replied to bee74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks everyone. Kids are from 10 m to 5 years. We have been to Florence before but d didn't like the food at all sadly as it is good for kids... Maybe it was a bad day. Anywhere near Forest Hill, Honor Oak, Sydenham? -
We want to take some friends for a good pub meal but with four kids we need not only yummy food but, also plenty of space to run around... We live in Camberwell but happy to travel for a nice place. Thank you

I am in the same position as jollymummy, although at a very intial stage of thinking about it. We would love to spend some time there as a family before committing. Does anyone know of someone who would like to swap their house in either Bris, Melb or Sydney for one in Camberwell... doesn't sound so tempting! Thank you

Kids football classes - recommendations?
bee74 replied to prdarling's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I am trying to organise a class during the week after school. So fare 5 parents are interested. It would be either Mon, Tue or Wed at 4 pm for about an hour. Cost about ?4. Location between Camberwell and ED. I have got a coach who is brilliant. So contact me if interested. Thank you -
thank you for starting this post, I am very curious too. I live in Camberwell, which is so central and close to everything. I am cooncerned everything else would feel really suburban. Can you tell me what postcodes you are talking about people living in Sydenham? Thank you

yes, i should have said she is a petite 11 month old. my son was in comparison the michelin man! he was potty trained at 18 months, so they have not been over used and 5 are new. i think it's the fit, in the sense that they don't seem to be tight enough around her thighs. thank you
-
I have used all my reusable nappies with my son from day one till potty training with no problems at all. But with my daughter, they just don't seem to fit as even after just one pee, she is soaked through and all her clothes need changing. I have different types so it's not just the one brand of nappies that is a bad fit. Has anyone had the same issue and a good resolution? Thank you

Afternoon Football Classes for Kids (2.5-6ish)

MONDAY is now the preferred option, so please let me know. -
Hello everyone last year I was taking my son to a football class which was just great. The coach, Dave, is clearly passionate about football and also excellent with the little ones. I found the class to be not just about scoring goals, but also good for learning about colours, waiting, taking turns, making friends, listening to instructions, building confidence and then of course practising physical skills. Sadly, the class is not running anymore because the cost of hiring Fusion became too high and because the class was not advertised at all so it was only about 5 mums with their kids. I found my son really got a lot out of it, se we were really sad not to be able to do it anymore. Dave is also very flexible and allows you to bring siblings in the class if you want to participate or leave your kid there if you need to leave. I have called him today to find out if he is still doing classes in the afternoon, but nope, just at week ends. But w/es are already packed for us. So I said I will try to get a class together for next term (after Christmas) . We need about 10 kids to committ to the term. The cost would be approx ?4/5 a class depending on numbers. It would be on MON afternoon 4-5 pm (ish)somewhere between Camberwell and ED. I will need to look into hiring a hall (so if you have any ideas, also get back to me). Please let me know if you would be interested. Thank you so much.

bee74 replied to Nikkikf's topic in The Family Room Discussion
you are not the only ones. My son will be 4 in December and my daughter is 7 months on Sat. This is why I am planning to escape to Italy (home) for the whole duration of the summer hols. But if that fails, count me in! -
I think it would be a good idea.
