You do realise they had real fires don't you and not those silly "display" things? ;-)
  2. Perhaps it wasn't SeanMacGabhanns' comments but such as: ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I blame the liberal executive... > > My personal view would be to have virtually no > moderation but given that this forum is moderated > then it should be respected. > AFN was borderline troll from time to time so > admin's move seems like a good one. No matter what one person may think/have thought about another there's no need to throw comments like that around now is there? I apologise if I'm wrong on the matter but I was under the impression this was a forum of adults not school children afterall.
  3. Ojm have you taken in to account from when those quotes were made? Which year? It is quite a trend for the local eateries to hold on to their awards, quotes and special visits for quite some time. Yes I can see the return argument by saying if it's an old quote then why put it on a new print but is it really new print or just a re-print?
  4. Apparently, according to the met office, summer is based over three months - June, July and August. June was, again according to the met office, an exceptionally good month and whilst July was/is a was out we still have August to look forward to. Not quite sure what that means but I guess it's not quite time to retire the paddling pool to the shed or to hang up those skimpy summer clothing replacing with thermals just yet.
  5. I'm sure we are all waiting with baited breath for your next contribution Beaver
  6. Perhaps attention should be paid on getting the TFL website up to date and providing accurate travel suggestions and times. Really, if I wanted to take the bus from ED to Kings Cross I wouldnt expect to be advised to go back on myself, change several times before I'm even going in the right direction and then get the right bus. Oh and the advise on crossing a major fast busy road where there is no pedestrian crossing is just not advisable. Shall I continue or is my point already clear? It generally does NOT take over an hour to get to central London via the 63 route or any other bus from ED. The councils interest in digging up the road in an unorganised manner (gas, elec etc companies not getting together and doing it in one hit) along with these ridiculous unnecessary ideas of adding "ends" to roads causing traffic congestion and disruption causes delays. I'd say focus on the more important and immediate things before branching out into something really, as a "candiate", we know you're not really likely to come through with. (tu)

Seems to me to be a more detailed description of ED rather than somewhere else.
  8. Personally, if I was a bus driver, I'd dread and possibly even go so far as to say hate the pick up through ED. I always thought it must be horrid going through areas like Brixton, Herne Hill, Streatham or anywhere on a main school bus route but WOW and OMG! if I had to go through ED :-S
  9. Let the weaker minded be sucked in. It's very much like the silly campaigns and chain messages concerning Facebook wanting to charge a membership fee and all that.
  10. Perhaps the idea karter is to introduce something different to ED that would appeal to those who fall outside the typcial demographic.
  11. I'm not sure I quite follow what you are asking...
  12. Having peeked through other posts I can certainly see your point Legal. Davvy do you have all the necessary documentation to prove your clean health?
  13. I know a David Watts too but doubt it's the same one. When you say "crumpet" are we assuming of the female variety? Clafication is certainly needed before sharing any information I feel to avoid embarrassment!
  14. careful! you could be opening yet another can of worms there!
  15. I'm confused (again). Who's done wot? I've not had anything delivered with my regular post...
  16. No that's Tescos - very small walkways in there ya know ;-)
  17. He didn't seem that bad to me. I mean, I hear (Oooh I do like a gossip!) there are many on here who are not particularly pleasant and such. Ah well. I shall look forward to the dudes return.
  18. what/who is this up & running malarky?
  19. A bit further a field - Sunday evening from around 9 (I think) at the Alleyn's Head. They run a very amusing Family Fortunes style pub quiz. Cash prize varies each week depending on number of participants.
