  1. SuzieK - how long do you have to return to work for to get the maternity pay? At my place it's only a month - so many people do just that!
  2. So glad this campaign continues - the whole concept is disgusting and the practices almost unbelievable (had I not witnessed some myself).
  3. Apologies, this isn't East Dulwich...but this forum seems to get a fair few visitors from over the boarders so hoping someone might be able to help... According to the Lewisham primary schools admissions booklet there will be 60 new reception places at Prendergast Ladywell Fields (on Manwood Road in Crofton Park) in 2014. However, the internet is revealing nothing but some old proposal for an opening in 2013 which evidently didn't happen... Does anyone know anything about what the provision will be like??? (Have emailed the school but no reply yet, am also going to try the LA...) It's currently a secondary school so would really like to know how it will all fit together...
  4. Oh yes, I tried that dairy elimination idea...but apparently you have to do it for weeks until it has any effect (?) and as you say, it's so hard to get any food in that it just added too much complication for me to pursue... I just concentrated on gobbling whatever calories possible whenever possible... And yes, had the distraction when out too - the issue there, I found was with me talking / moving (whether in my home or elsewhere). I remember everyone else seeming to be able to sit and chat away while feeding, while I had to go into a silent huddle and stay still...
  5. Another ex-refuxer here... agree with previous poster that there seem to be so many complex things at work, it's really hard it figure out what actually helps. For us too things started improving around 6 months. astrid83 - same as you, feeding at night was much, much calmer most of the time - could never figure out why that was or how it tied in with everything else... As I say, never quite figured out what worked or why - had a sense that Ranitidine seemed to, maybe, so stayed on that, but really it did just seem to be time and growth. But just wanted to reassure (as I don't have much useful info) that things will improve - you'd have no idea looking at mine now how things were back then!
  6. It's not political debate though, on this thread...it's petty squabbling that comes across as office politics and furthering personal agendas rather than helping anyone else. So James and Renata - rather than these digs at one another that only undermine you and any meaningful message you might actually be able to convey, I've got a genuine request. Please could you lay out your key stances regarding education and they key issues that you are currently tackling / prioritising in this area?
  7. Two weeks for us, recently, and not aware of any checks...
  8. Interested in this thread, because apparently they ARE compulsory at the school we're going to - not allowed to start without one!
