  1. We had a good meal on Christmas Day at the Rosendale last year - very chilled atmosphere with table football for when our kids (3 and 4) got bored. Service wasn't amazing but it didn't matter.
  2. We had a tip to use methylated spirits to wash it off which seems to have largely worked. Just in case this is useful for someone else... James - great idea about contacting the Council, thanks. I'd have done that if our DIY hadn't worked. Dulwich Fox - that's interesting about the YOI - I hadn't thought to Google it!
  3. Thanks all. We've now realised it says YOI (whatever that means?!) and unfortunately, despite my husband scrubbing it for an hour, it still shows up when you shine a light on it. Grrrrr! If anyone's had any success in removing chalk of brickwork, please let me know! We don't have a high performance vehicle - we have a KIA Sportage but it is a new one.
  4. We've just come home from a day out to find (massive) chalk letters 'YO' written on the front of our house. We've reported it to the police on 101 in case it's a burglar's marking. Really unsettling either way! Anyone had anything similar?
  5. I'd recommend Little Fingers on Burbage Rd. Very small, calm & safe Montessori nursery.
  6. If you can, I would suggest trying to space out the feeds to every 3 or 4 hours as I had this problem with my second and had got into a pattern of over feeding - by using feeding as a way to comfort and stop the crying! Babies only need to demand feed for first couple of weeks (to establish a milk supply), providing they're putting on weight of course. By constantly feeding, they don't get a chance to digest the previous milk before snacking again & it makes things worse. Dare I say it Gina Ford has a useful couple of pages on this!
  7. Thanks for coming back so quickly :-)
  8. Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist that we can pay privately to see (it will be without GP referral)? Thanks in advance
  9. So shocking. This nursery has gone rapidly downhill since January this year when the new manager Sylvia took over. I removed my child before Easter as I wasn't happy about things - seemed too chaotic and badly run. Very sad how quickly a great nursery can go downhill following a change of manager. It was so different when Maria was in charge (to which period the OFSTED report relates). This is pure negligence and could have had such an awful ending. So pleased your son was ok. I hope OFSTED remove the manager.
  10. OMG, that is so shocking. The nursery has not been the same since Sylvia took over. It seems totally chaotic and badly run. I have recently removed my child as I wasn't happy with things. Other parents I know had also raised concerns about finding the doors not shut propertly. I wouldn't recommend this nursery to anyone. It's changed so much since Maria left at Christmas :-(
  11. The other option to consider is starting her part time so she could just go mornings for example until the term in which she turns 5. Then she wouldn't miss out on so much learning (as this is often done before lunch) or making friends.
  12. My 3 1/2 daughter has just started at Little Fingers at the Edward Alleyn club on Burbage Road after I became unhappy with her current nursery. They have places for immediate start. It's a Montessori and a very calm environment. They have different activities on every day (yoga, French, cooking) and have lovely outside space. It's only week 2 for her so early days but definitely worth a look.
  13. My daughter had a tongue tie and I didn't get it cut as she was (breast) feeding fine, although Clare at Kings said she could hear her tongue slipping as she fed! She is now 3 1/2 and does not have any speech problems or even a lisp. She had quite a stretchy tongue tie so I guess the type may make a difference? I'm glad we didn't have it done.
  14. Thanks very much. Traveling with two small children shortly and didn't want to get caught out!
  15. There seem to be disruptions due to flooding further down the line but anyone know if there are trains running from North/ East Dulwich to London Bridge? It's not clear from the updates if this part of the line is affected. Thanks!

  17. Very helpful. Thanks everyone :-)
  18. Does anyone have any good tips for this? I want to create a 'This is your life' book for my Mum's 70th using a digital package but not sure where to start in converting the old photos. All tips gratefully received. Thanks in advance
