Long shot I know. Does anyone have any info on the balloon that was in the school grounds in ww2?

Please tell me when the bell tower in Heber Rd school was taken down. I have sent an email to admin at the school which has been ignored. Not the manners I learned when a pupil there in the 1940's! Thank you

Don't know about bike sheds in front gardens but can remember the bike shed at the hospital! Wow!

When I was a kid during WW2 the 'paddling pool' was full of broken glass and dog mess. Is this the same place?

Long shot I know but does anyone have a photo of the ww2 Barrage Balloon in Townley Rd opposite Alleyn's?

I left ED when I joined the RAF in 1954. Still look back with fond memories I was born in Jennings Rd, lived there through the war, went to Heber Rd school when it had a bell tower. When I look at Google street maps, I know it's 60yrs ago, but I have trouble recognising places. Hey Ho, would like to come back sometime
