  1. Is this generally for children with phones or children on their own. I am interested as my child is coming to an age where they want to do things independently, for example cycle round Dulwich park then come and meet me with my other child. Is this inadvisable right now or generally? From what I can work out lots of children travel to secondary school alone. I am just trying to work out how to make the transition.
  2. If they can get to a local primary school for the end of the day. There are always pick up roles available.
  3. The dark wild trilogy.
  4. My kids love the meditation gonoodle clips that they do at school I just did a quick search and there seems that be some wind down clips on YouTube (they also do active stuff so you need to include meditation in the search). Not exactly what you asked for but a start.
  5. .
  6. I just tried to use them recently, it is free to sign up as far as I am aware. But they couldn't find anyone.
  7. Geddes opposite forest hill Sainsbury's is the best children's hairdresser that I have come across. I think is is ?20 depending on age and they seem to get the works. I've had other cuts at ?12.50 and ?15 but not been that impressed but it depends how difficult the cut is.
  8. I think before they are 5 it doesn't really matter. Though I don't have any direct experience. Otherwise you should try your best to go during school holidays, weddings, big birthdays etc. Being possible reasons for exception...
  9. Thank you Sue. You made me laugh out loud this morning 😁.
  10. Thank you. I have reported it on the Met website as I cannot get through on the phone.
  11. I have just had a meter reader call at my house in Underhill Road. I let him in out of the rain, he was carrying some handheld device. Then noticing he did not have one single item with any sort of work logo on or any ID, I asked to see his ID, he said he had none and left. He seemed a nice enough man and left immediately but it seems totally strange, I can't imagine that anyone actually working would not have ID. Beware, perhaps ask for ID sooner than I did, I am a bit shocked that I was so stupid!
  12. Sounds yummy, I couldn't make it how did it go?
  13. Poor you sounds awful. Perhaps a visit to the doctor? You can get a boost dose of vitamin D and B12 if needed or there maybe something else? Can you take a sick day off to just catch up on sleep? Sounds like you really need a few days rest. In the long term can you work more down time/you time into your routine. I feel for you, life is really too busy sometimes (all the time), wishing you find a solution.
  14. Do public telephones still exist? I don't think so, in the old days you could always ring home. I am interested in this topic and I'm not sure on the answers. But certainly at home, with phones and general screen time, I think it's really important to have engaging alternatives and organise lots of social activities. Then when you use a phone it is for genuine moments when they enhance the situation. I don't ban computer games, though I would love to, but keep strict times to a minimum as my children have no capacity to police it. I feel really happy when the topic isn't brought up for 3 or 4 days, that's quite rare though.
  15. Perhaps do something special before the baby is born. Weekend away? Depends how she's feeling with the pregnancy.
  16. Parking 5 mins away before adding to the traffic jam by the school and walking the last bit reduces pollution and congestion. The older children get the more they can bus, bike, scoot, walk. It is just about having initiatives to raise awareness and get everyone enthused. Walk to school weeks, having breakfast available at school so some arrive earlier, I am sure there are more... I guess coaches are a good solution as the children are not coming individually.
  17. Too many people drive their children to school that could pursue other alternatives at least sometimes and would enjoy the change. A collective mental shift is necessary for all journeys that could be reduced. I think it is essential for quality of life and the benefits are undeniable.
  18. When I was looking online for sofa there seemed to be lots of shops in Kingston. But I didn't get much further than that!
  19. That explains what woke me up. I couldn't work out what it was, I thought it was more thunder, like a few days previously. That thunder was the longest, loudest, house shaking thunder I have ever heard. I wish I was awake enough to see the lightning!
  20. Eos dance does street dance at the East Dulwich Community centre on saturday mornings.
