  1. I think the craziest cyclists I have seen recently are parents riding on busy roads with tiny babies in slings.I had to do a double take as couldn't believe my eyes at first.
  2. Hi I have just PM'd you with my details. If you would like any testimonials I am happy to send them to you along with more photos. Many Thanks Mel
  3. Hi Just wanted to let people know that the Monday sessions at Goose Green will no longer be running. They will be running new sessions on a Wednesday mornings in the Dish and Spoon cafe in Nunhead. I will post here once I get confirmation of when that will start. Good luck to all the parents and babies we have met in the last year. Many thanks Mel and Rosie
  4. If you get the 36 I would suggest trying to perhaps get it from Peckham at the end of Rye Lane nearest Peckham library.Past experience of buses on strike days means I would avoid big transport hubs like Vauxhall and Victoria if you are able to!
  5. I should stop being quite so strict as it probably will end up back firing and she will be addicted to pink when she grows up.My mum would never let my sister and I shop in Tammy Girl and all we ever longed for were crop tops and puffball skirts...not that I now wear those tasteful items of clothing I hasten to add?!
  6. I like that idea.I do a bit of machine embroidery so I was thinking ladybirds or even trying some basic potato or Lino printing.I really will go to great lengths to avoid pink,I hate it that much! But from what I have seen with my friends kid's they eventually are drawn to pink no matter what you do to fight it!Am I alone in the frustrations of pink being enforced on our daughters??!
  7. Hi I am looking at getting my 2yo daughter duvet covers but am having trouble finding anything that isn't hideous pink or branded. Please can someone kindly point me in the direction of some non Disney and non Peppa Pig designs?! Thank you
  8. Hi I am looking at the Banana Moon nursery for my daughter.Does anyone have any experience of this nursery please? Any advice on searching for a nursery would be much appreciated as this is the first time we have looked into nurseries and am trying to compile a list of relevant questions. Many thanks Mel
  9. I will be tracking a copy down this afternoon. I live in Peckham and attend monthly local residents meeting where we discuss local issues. The association have campaigned on various issues over the years to get funding to help improve the area and have made a valuable and positive contribution to the community. Many of the members have lived here all, or a majority of their lives. Meetings often end with them reminiscing about all the changes they have seen over the years (Rye Lane used to be a shopping destination that people would flock to, a 2nd Oxford Street one of my older neighbours used to call it). I think it would be really interesting to hear their stories and learn some of the history of Peckham from their perspective. There are huge changes happening all over Peckham now, some good and some bad I am sure. I think many residents get frustrated with how Peckham is often portrayed in the media with such negativity ,crime rates, gangs etc. When the riots of 2011 occurred there was a large focus on Peckham but I heard (and feel free to correct me if I am wrong,I didn't witness it first hand) that Lordship Lane was actually vandalised more but this wasn't reported on in the media. As one of my neighbours who has lived here over 40 years said very proudly 'People can slag off Peckham, but I love my Peckham'.
  10. Very jealous. You can have proper satay as well!None of the Westernised rubbish with peanuts in the marinade!Enjoy.
  11. There is a new website called Cookisto and I noticed someone in the Peckham area makes beef rendang. It's an idea that started in Athens and recently launched here, people make various home cooked dishes and sell to people.I was thinking about signing up as I love making a massive pot of rendang. It brings back wonderful memories of family trips to Penang!
  12. Hi Just wanted to let people know that Babes and Bumps group are still running throughout the holidays.
