After several frustrating months and a lot of limping around I've finally given up on using the NHS. I'd really appreciate any reccomendations for a podiatrist, especially if they helped you overcome tibial tendon dysfunction/plantar fascitis or general biomechanical problems. Thanks a lot in advance!

I've seen him on a number of occasions with a trolley full of scrap and presumably on his way back to the mentioned van. I must say he didn't seem at all suspicious, so I once asked him if any of the the stuff in my garage was of use to him. He didn't want the large items, but he sent round a couple (his parents?)who were more than happy to take everything that I had been too lazy to get rid of!

I exercise there often and I have to say that almost all of the dog owners I come across are very responsible and approachable people. Sure, there are the odd few who couldn't care less, but there are so few of them that it is not worth thinking about too much.

Excellent post and video, I never knew that such amazing races took place there.

"Remember they are using the highways for free" - no they don't! Road maintenance is funded out of general taxation and believe it or not the majority of cyclists also own a car. So you could say that they are actually paying for roads that are more suited to your needs than theirs.

I'm not a fan of cameras, given that drivers simply speed up after passing them. There is a camera on that road, but what it really needs is one that measures average speed. Forest Hill road presents a nice opportunity for the speed lovers to open the taps a little and in my opinion is one of the most dangerous roads in the area. Yes, there are many that drink, but I assure you that it wouldn't happen at an Islamic gathering; particularly one that celebrates the most important occasion! Besides, the ones that are not fully practising try to take part in religious events by adopting the "spirit" of the event and would respect the cultural norms. So unless they are an alcoholic I'm sure they would put down their drink for a few hours....
