  1. Brilliant, thanks so much!
  2. So sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know where I could find a protective face visor locally? Can?t seem to find one anywhere on the lane! I?ve tried AJ farmers, Dulwich DIY and pharmacies!
  3. Hi EPB! The Estate Dairy are doing home deliveries of milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs here: https://www.theestatedairy.com/
  4. Dog found in Dulwich Park this evening, taking to the vet to be checked for microchip as without a collar but please get in touch if you have lost a dog!
  5. Would highly recommend these washable reuseable baby wipes from Cheeky Wipes! They are organic cotton, come in nice bright colors and are so lovely on baby skin. They come with a box you just add water to and a bag to take them out and about. I found that now I'm using them, disposable wipes seem really odd! They are like little flannels and clean much better than disposable wipes so I find I only use two per change! You just throw them in a nappy bucket with a drawstring mesh bag in it afterwards and then that goes straight in the washing machine so no need to touch dirty wipes afterwards. https://www.cheekywipes.com/baby-wipes-kit/baby-wipes-kit-mini.html
  6. Hiya! I did The Group class at The Half Moon in Herne Hill over the summer (as The Lordship ED session was sold out) and really highly recommend it! My partner and I signed up to the NHS free sessions as well and were also unsure about which, if any, additional paid antenatal class to choose because of cost. In the end we were gifted The Group classes from a family member and I was so so pleased we were able to do them. We did them at the same time as the NHS sessions and although it was nice to also do the NHS sessions, we kept thinking, really the amount of information and detail covered by The Group was much more extensive and incomparable to the NHS which was a far more casual overview. The Group do 3 sessions on all birth scenarios and then 3 sessions on looking after a baby. The Half Moon sessions also included hot snacks, dinner really, during a break half way through which were a lovely perk and make the cost really good value! We chose The Group over NCT as The Group sessions are run by local midwives (NHS sessions are also run by a midwife but NCT are not). It was so brilliant having first hand qualified advice and the overlaps with the midwife teams that we/class members were with, whether home birth or hospital birth was lovely. They are such lovely people, even offering the option to turn to them for advice after the sessions have finished and they also run a lovely local free parent group called Mother Cuppa for afterwards. We debated on signing up for ages and were just so relieved and happy that we did! Honestly if you go with The Group, I can't imagine you would regret it :) ! And yes, bonus is you also meet several local couples going through the same thing at the same time. I wasn't necessarily thinking we'd need this as we do have friends with kids and recognize there are other ways to meet friends with babies the same age, but there has been something very bonding, fun and helpful in going through the before, during and after together! Location-wise, even though we did the Herne Hill group, there were other East Dulwichers doing that session and it's been great sorting ED or HH meetups together afterwards.
  7. Wallet found in East Dulwich today, please message me with your name and details of wallet contents if you lost yours. Will take to bank, workplace or driver's license address tomorrow.
  8. They also have them at the Francis Peek Centre (park office) in Dulwich park :) !
  9. Thanks so much Roxcy, I was thinking the same, that perhaps she ran home, as I think if she was still in the park we would have found her, unless she was hiding quietly somewhere. . .fingers crossed!
  10. I saw the ambulance leaving, driving quite slowly with 2 police cars behind it so guessed the victim might be inside. The air ambulance then left shortly afterwards. Sorry don't have more concrete info. I haven't been able to find any news reports on it.
  11. Thank you for posting Gerry. I arrived I think shortly after it happened. Very shocking. Hoping that the man is OK. Please keep an eye out for a white and brown terrier type dog named "Amy" who belongs to the person who was with the victim and who ran off terrified at the time. Many people searched the park extensively afterwards but when I left about half an hour ago, she still hadn't been found.
  12. The lovely Norris And Knight cafe on forest hill road!
  13. Just been birthday shopping for a friend this afternoon, all up and down Lordship lane and Northcross Road gift shops and our 2 small dogs were welcomed with lots of pets and attention and allowed in everywhere except for the kitchen shop, which was to be anticipated, being foodie focused! ED Mrs Robinson Eco Shop A J Farmers Oliver Bonas Rye Books Roullier White New Crafty Shop Fashion Conscience Shop Next To Brick House Bakery Barclays. . . I'm often surprised to find dogs welcomed in most places other than supermarkets and some restaurants. If I'm heading to a specific destination and I'm in doubt, I just call ahead and ask. Other dog friendly places: Romeo Jones Dulwich Village The Prince Regent Herne Hill Blue Brick Cafe ED The Cambria Pub in Camberwell Brixton Covered Market (always surprised by this one & start sweating a bit when security guards pass but no prob!?!) Canopy Beer Tap Room Herne Hill Lowie Herne Hill The Great Exhibition ED And non dog friendly finds: Kew Gardens (a shame to visit a park without dogs, though understandable :) !) Gails Dulwich Village (only allowed outside) The Lido Cafe (was initially dog friendly inside as well, very convenient being in Brockwell park but now dogs are only allowed outside, although they have been friendly to and fine with my dogs waiting inside with me while I grab take away coffees :) !) Brockwell Park Cafe
  14. Had similar thoughts when I saw a Deliveroo biker run through a red light using the pedestrian crossings and pavement yesterday. Surely part of their training would be emphasizing following road rules/safety!?! Very sorry to hear of these other incidences. Would be brilliant to also email your message to Deliveroo RPC as guessing they're unlikely to see your post on here.
  15. Hi Karen, you likely already know this but if not, thought it'd be worth mentioning that you can get advice for free from a solicitor through the Citizens Advice Bureau. I've used their free, one on one, in person, solicitor consultation service before and it was very helpful. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/how-we-provide-advice/advice/
  16. pommie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > should ring wildlife aid or fox project rather > than the RSPCA Pommie, you'll see in my posts above that I did actually think of calling the fox project first but found that they can only help between 9am-9pm and that outside of these hours they advise to ring the RSPCA. As it was 1am, that's what I did! I have to say, from what I'd heard on here about other people's experiences calling the RSPCA, I didn't really anticipate that they'd be willing to do anything and so was brilliantly surprised and found it so assuring that they answered the phone right away, took the situation very seriously, offered phone advice and said that they would come out right away, at any time of day or night. Would you not recommend them? I didn't know about Wildlife Aid but I see that, like the RSPCA, they do have a phone line you can call 24 hours a day.
  17. Walked up and down both sides of Bassano street and checked underneath all the cars and in house entrances but no fox! Hopefully that's a good thing as means it recovered enough to move? If anyone else sees it and it needs help, please call the RSPCA at any time on 0300 1234 999. You'll need to be with / be able to see the fox when you call and apparently they'll send out help immediately. They should have a case already open for this fox with Bassano Street as a reference!
  18. There is a charity called The Fox Project that can help between 9am-9pm but outside of these hours they advise to ring the RSPCA. I've just rung the RSPCA and they've said that they will send out help right away if we can see the fox when we call (as they said that foxes are quite resilient and that it's possible this fox may have already moved at this point). I'm going to check if it's still there now and will call RSPCA from there if it is!
  19. So sorry to hear this :( ! On the lookout for your bike! I saw a similar one in tulse hill on the weekend & took a photo of the plate to check when I got home but it was a different number to yours. Unless you think they might have changed it? Best, Gg
