It really is amazing that after spending a load of money digging up and rebuilding the Calton Avenue / Court Lane junction for months, they are now planning on spending a load more digging it all up and rebuilding it again. Regardless of the benefits or not, what a total waste of tax-payer money.

When I lived in Islington there were various ?sub-zones? I think that corresponded to different clusters of Streets. That might be a better idea than one larger area perhaps.

I?m undecided on whether to be for or against this proposal. I can see some benefits in theory. However, as one previous poster mentioned, in my view the introduction of the extended double yellow lines at the end of all the roads has had more impact on the lack of parking in our immediate area than any other cause of parking congestion. It has been implemented excessively and very inconsistency - for example they put them on all the intersections to Pellatt Road that are not busy, but then didn?t even put them on the junction with Crystal Palace Road! But no use crying over spilt milk now... Is there any issue with ?commuter / non-resident? parking in the area? Quite possibly. However, I think that a general increase in car ownership by residents has probably had just as much impact. There are many households in and around where we live that have multiple cars - which personally I have no issue with - but it just means space is a bit tighter than it once was. Also, I do feel sorry for residents that live closer to the station that find people parking outside their houses to get the train. But I am also not sure that the CPZ would stop this as some of the people parking near the station actually also live in the area! I know because a friend of mine who used to live nearby did just that (to my surprise).

I tend to agree with worldwiser. I think new charging points would be a great idea but if all they do is just remove existing spaces then that will be a right pain. Also inconsistency between the manufacturers is an issue - Tesla for example seems focused on rolling out their own network which other cars can?t use. Incidentally we just had a trip to France and they seem to be way ahead on this with charging points all over the place.

Poor owner probably WILL have it nicked now that its location has been posted online!

I received an e-mail notification from Southwark Council that they have posted feedback to the consultation on the "Southwark Spine" on their website. It seems that 63% of the 463 respondents were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the proposals, with the most frequently cited reason being concerns around parking loss. They have said they are "making some changes to our proposals" but on review of the decision it appears none related to parking. Sounds like all too late for ED.

I've written to Helen Hayes MP about the rise of motorcycle theft in the area. Not expecting any major change but the more we make our feeling known the greater chance of making some impact. If you haven't looked up "We Ride London" then have a look at that as well.

I noticed this morning that the police have spray painted a warning sign about locking up your bike/scooter on the pavement outside Oddono's on Lordship Lane.

Has been there for ages (maybe even a year now) - lots of "Deliveroos" scooting in and out. I think it is more for their "own brand" restaurants that they have listed on there - they effectively create different restaurant concepts themselves to pad out the listings before they have local restaurants signed up.

I tend to think that while the pubs in ED are all technically 'pubs', they are each catering to a different market. The Bishop - basically more of a 'bar' with younger crowd The Palmerston - effectively a restaurant. Wouldn't really choose it for a casual beer Franklins - combination of pub / restaurant EDT - more of a traditional all-round pub with relaxed atmosphere The Lordship - kind of now a wedding venue as closed for functions most weekends Great Exhibition - similar to EDT in my experience, although weekend DJ brings more of a Bishop-type vibe

Walking down Lordship Lane at around 10am this morning I must have counted about 7 police cars parked up. No sign of the officers. Was wondering if anyone had seen anything as quite unusual...?

The Lordship pub had a LOT of weddings over the summer months so I am not sure if that has had an impact around weekends with guests parking on the road.

My bike cover was also lifted up over the front tyre this morning when I left for work - appears that someone was having a look at it. Also Pellatt Road
