Hi Our elderly cat Bill is missing since Sat evening (5th Sept) in the Ferris Road, Tyrrell Road, Oakhurst Road area. Photo attached. He is friendly and loud and usually found sitting around outside our house He is almost 17 so does not look his best and is quite thin. He does not wear a collar and is not micro chipped. It?s really odd for him to be gone for this long If you have seen him please let us know Thank you..

I have just bought an Eve mattress, had it about 2 week. Currently I have lots of neck upper back pain and was due a new mattress. I read all of the Which reviews and this came out best to me. I like it, it takes some getting used to. It feels like I am sleeping on something very firm and dense but I feel supported. Saying that I have been waking up with a sore lower back which gets better once I start walking round but I have a feeling this is due to the fact I sleep on my front as I can feel it?s not good as I can feel the strain on my lower back as I lie there. I think I am sleeping better in it and the great thing is that if you share a bed it absorbs all of the movement that the other person makes so you really can?t feel them turning over or moving around..

This morning the traffic is being diverted down Ferris Road from Tyrrell which adds an additional 2 tight corners in residential streets to the diversion

http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9576303 Just wondering on thoughts of local residents on this planning application to build 7 flats on a car park in Ferris Road. The car park currently serves a block of 9 flats and would mean that there are 16 flats in a small area with no parking. The current block of flats is currently empty as being refurbished. Parking in this area is currently difficult due to the trading estate round the corner parking all of their vans, camper vans and cars to be repaired on. The consultation closes soon and so far there is only one comment regarding parking

To the man that asked my 6 year old to cycle on the road
craigy replied to R U IN ED's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have no problem with children riding on the pavement but do think they should be taught some manners by their parents. This morning whilst walking my children to school a child rode up behind us and just rung his bell at us to come past, no sign of a parent anywhere and then we watched him ride up to the next lot of people on the pavement and do the same. I have a 6 year old and she rides on the pavements as she is not safe for the rode but knows if she comes up behind someone she either waits or speaks to ask if she can come past. -
I did my son's renewal a couple of weeks ago, took it to check and send at the post office on the monday and it arrived on the friday of the same week- must be quite quiet at the mo

No. There is not any equivalent in the area. It is covered by the community midwives from St Thomas' who just provide antenatal care in clinics and post natal care in the home.

Our car has been moved...road resurfacing!?
craigy replied to TTNutrition's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live on Ferris Road. The signs first went up about a week or so before the works and gave dates of 19-23rd. Nothing happened on Monday but there was a skip in the road- don't know if this made any difference to the date but it seemed to disappear for the Wed resurfacing and is now back. They did put notes on the cars and through the door on Sun/ Mon. What I don't understand is why Ferris Road? It wasn't that bad and is the quietest road that hardly gets any traffic. There are loads of other roads that would benefit from a resurface rather than ours. I used to live in Blackheath on the road behind the start of the elite marathon runners- that was a nightmare trying to find your car when they moved it.. Usually half way to Charlton with no one to actually give you a clue... -
I was very stressed about this in the run up to the birth of my second. Had lots of friends willing, bought an inflatable bed to go with him and packed him a little bag. Didn't really like the idea of dropping him off somewhere in the middle of the night. Had believe that it would all work out in the end and it did. My sister decided to drive 120 miles one day on a whim with her 7 month old what i was 38+6 weeks. She rang me in the morning to check I wasn't it labour- no signs of anything happening. Am hour into her journey my waters broke!!Problem solved, she took him home with her later that day and bought him back 2 days later...

Is there a good time to book flights?
craigy replied to stellakis's topic in The Family Room Discussion
in terms of times of day i read an article that said it is best to book flights in the afternoon as most business travel is booked in the morning and holiday flights usually get booked in the evening so the afternoon has the cheapest fluctuation in flights, no idea if there is any truth in it.. i booked easy jet flight to majorca for july just gone on the day they were released last october and kept checking them again through the next few months just to see and they were never any cheaper -
First week at Reception - half days
craigy replied to Busymum2's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My daughter is starting also and I am taking leave that week to be around for her. However, I do work for the NHS and have a very generous annual leave allowance and already have a son in the school so knew what the procedure was going to be so had done some advance annual leave planning. Personally I wouldn't want my daughter just going straight in for full days in a class of 60 where no one knows her name on that first day or anything about her. At least with a few half days the staff will have less children in each session and a bit of a chance to work out who is who. I know from other friends who have children that have started at different schools this is actually quite a short period of half days at just a week. A friend in SW London had a whole term of half days!!!!! -
wow, sainsburys must have been having a really busy day then if there were no other spaces available, not even at the back by the nursery and recycling bins?? i don't think i have even seen the car park full, i have frequently seen the 14 or so parent and child spaces full but never the rest of the large car park.

craigy replied to yeknomyeknom's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Own room, never dream fed, breast fed. Big feed at 7 and into bed. First one slept through from about 2 months, second one was just beginning to sleep through at this time. Always put them down awake. Husband did bedtime if in and still does, I did all night feeding obviously as breast fed. -
August baby. School age cut off date advice needed
craigy replied to dirty tree's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have a mid August child and I am happy for her to go to school when she has just turned 4. She is tall for her age, sociable and already very settled into a nursery setting 3 days a week. She is also a second child and I have watched her brother (April born) thrive and grow as he went through reception and I would hate to see her miss out on any of that. Reception is very play based and at their school involves so many fun things with so many other children.. And in this environment they do learn without really realising it. I guess it is a very individual thing and probably depends upon the school that you get a how you feel about that but I for one am happy for her to start when just turned 4.. My understanding of it is that you could defer your place until the April (summer term) or the whole year but they would then start in year 1 when just turned 5 and it may be a bit if a shocker then as the play element is very reduced in favour of learning.. There has to be a cut off point somewhere and some strict rules as to what happens to those at either side of the point. -
We are not heber but I have taken mine out of school for 2 days on a couple of occasions and when asked it has been refused and marked on the register as unauthorised absense. They explained that they cannot authorise it due to ofsted etc but it is fine to do it as we have had no sick days previously.

Driving / parking at O2 for concert - worth the grief ?
craigy replied to KidKruger's topic in The Lounge
?20 for parking but similar to the price of 3 travel cards. Left about 5 mins before the masses and got out easily but did try and park as close to the exit as possible.. Home easily in comfort. -
Best way to St Thomas' - Thursday for 9.30am
craigy replied to The Nappy Lady's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I work there. The easiest way is the 12 but you do need to get on around the Barry Road area to guarantee a seat. Probably take up to an hour at that time of day. At 6.30am it takes about 25 mins. I drive there and even in rush hour it only takes half an hour (I go through Peckham and down old Kent road. Parking is not too bad in terms of finding a space in the hospital car park but is ?2.50 or so an hour and you have to pay the congestion charge too. There are othe car parks around but it's still not cheap. -
I am potty training my 2 and a half year old (with the help of her nursery 3 days a week). We are at the end of week 2 with very little input from me and we are the same. Great at wee's but poo's on a much less frequent basis than usual, in pants of nappy once put on for night. Completely different with my son who the poo ages before wee's but her nursery (who potty train about 6 at once every couple of months) assure me this is quite normal and to just wait so I am! We had had the potty out for a couple of months prior to starting and she had done one poo on it of her own doing one evening but it involved her on and off it for about 20 mins as if she knew something needed to happen but wasn't sure what so makes me think that it is a very different feeling and may take a whe to recognise..
