Great work from Saied at Dulwich Eco Gardening this week - he's replaced an uneven, unloved and muddy patch of lawn with beautiful new turf and even though I've organised this from afar with him I never doubted for a moment that it would be a great job on time and to budget. I found him yeas ago on this forum and his recommendations are totally justified. You too will be lucky that you found him!

We've been calling Saied for help with our garden over the last couple of years now. He's always reliable, honest, really knowledgeable and hard working and I wouldn't trust anyone else. If you need a wonderful job doing in your garden give him a call! (and did I mention that he always does a great job of clearing away after his works?) Highly recommended - we've already booked him for his next visit!

Anyone know how much the company costs to clean your wheelie bin???
Afternoontea71 replied to trinidad's topic in The Lounge
I paid a bit more but I only wanted a one off clean for two bins. Excellent quick service - they came round the same morning (of course I'd left it to bin emptying day to call) & both bins totally spruced up. (previously in a very bad way post-summer) Can recommend Solomon on 07946 293559 (forget the company but I found them on EDF) -
Little Clippers - mega-expensive?
Afternoontea71 replied to Jenny I's topic in The Family Room Discussion
No surly (or drunk) staff on my visit today - I took my two boys in here for the first time and I was amazed at how patient our lady was in the face of a screaming, reluctant 2 year old that wouldn't even sit in the chair. She never gave up on him and after 20mins when he'd calmed down and got used to the place she did a good job of cutting his hair with me standing up holding him in my arms distracting him with a dinosaur & the screen. Gold star for perseverance. Two cuts in 30mins plus toys, tv and lollies - my 7 yr old's looks great (every bit as good as GK barbers on Melbourne where we normally go) but the real prize? My 2 yr old got the haircut he's needed for a year and we've hopefully removed some of the trauma of hairdressers for him. One grateful customer. -
Once again reliable Saied has come to the rescue of my little unloved garden. He's pruned, weeded, cutback, planted bulbs and fetched a new tree for me. All in a few hours and I can look out and smile at the garden again. Did I mention he tidies up after himself like a demon and brings organic apples from his allotment for my children?! If you need a pre-winter spruce up give him a call - you won't find a lovelier harder-working gardener.

Basically Lambeth plan to remove all funding for Carnegie as a library and lease the building as a commercial gym to Greenwich Leisure. They have specified that there should be a "small selection of books available in a lounge area" but there will no functioning library or staff on the site. If you'd like to read more details here is a good link: http://indulwich.co.uk/ And the petition (not just for Lambeth residents to sign as it states) to save this wonderful library is here: http://moderngov.lambeth.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?id=379

Sunray Gardens - time for a spruce up?
Afternoontea71 replied to Afternoontea71's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks - have just sent email and some photos in to the parks team and Rebecca. -
Has anyone noticed how overgrown Sunray Gardens is looking lately? I don't remember it getting like this before. I'm in there nearly every day and the nettles and brambles along the path around the lake are quite out of control. It makes walking round with a toddler quite tricky. The smaller unpaved paths to the playground are also overgrown. I'm all for a bit of natural planting in an urban park but it would be good to be able to let small children explore a bit without having to keep them away from all the harmful stuff. Just wondered if anyone has emailed Southwark before I look into it..

A nicer, harder working gardener you won't find. Once again Saied came back to our small garden and straightened it out. He made light work of a huge hedge and replanted and shaped and weeded. Before I knew it it's looking lovely again and 8 huge bags of garden waste are sitting out front. We're in our second year now of him looking after our garden and I still thoroughly recommend him!

Saied came back to our garden last week to check all his wonderful planting, chop, mow, tie back and prune and tidy and reshape a terrible hedge - all hard work done with a smile and lots of advice. Lovely man, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any gardening needs. We've been admiring his hard work all weekend. Thanks Saied!

What a find! Saied just worked two very hard full days and totally turned round my unloved, weed filled garden - loads of clearance and pruning and weeding, lots of planting, laid bark, seeded the lawn and v soon I will be able to finally enjoy my garden. Really thoughtful, helpful and he totally went the extra mile. I have no hesitations in recommending Saied and I'll have him back in a flash! Thanks for the wonderful job - can't believe what he achieved in two days.
