We had the same situation last year - and deliberated over it. Decided to keep our daughter with the childminder and delay the nursery place until she was nearly 3. I felt the practically one to one attention was something we had to take into account, more variety in getting out and about with the childminder (Nursery would have been one room plus outside space)and even with the years delay means daughter will be at nursery for 2 years. I also discussed it with the childminder and told her my instinct was we should stay with her - they did masses of arts and crafts, learning colours, numbers, animals etc - but questioned her as to whether she felt our daughter was 'growing out' of their routine. Nursery would have been cheaper (!) but I am pleased we made the decision we did! Katie

I too found it EXTREMELY fustrating this evening when trying to get home in a hurry to get my daughter. These road works are going on and on and on - last time I took a bus up Rye lane was August..... The tfl website is hopeless and doesn't have any information about the southbound journeys that I can see. Does anyone know if the stops near the leisure centre are working? Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your break in. We are also in Upland Road (near Underhill road) and it must have been the same guy - broke into our shed and took a rather expensive road bike between Monday late eve and Tues morning....Sounds as if he is doing the rounds. Let's hope he gets caught soon!

There is a lot of it going around. My 16 month old was unwell for a good week - Diarolite mixed with ribena seemed to help and kept her blood sugar up. If it is the noro virus then avoid dairy products - the chemist or drs will advise - and if you are really worried the A&E at Kings is great and there is a separate children's section. It is frightening when they can't tell you what is wrong and they are not eating, but it will pass!

Went in there today - delicious looking food (had a great sandwich) and very reasonably priced.
