  1. This is possibly my most favourite thread EVER! :))
  2. So am I worrying about a real iguana or a lamppost now?
  3. Let us know what happens please, I hope it's still alive :(
  4. Might be an idea to let the RSPCA know tonight, it's going to be the coldest night of the year so far and lizards need warmth don't they? Also, the owners may have already reported it missing to them. Where was it?
  5. I can't believe I have missed a whole month of hummy mummies. Turns out having a tonsillectomy as an adult is not so much fun. Are the different groups working on the same songs? I cannot wait to get singing again!!!
  6. As a teacher (with lots of experience in the Foundation Stage) I know that part of the job is sorting out differences between parents. The ballet teacher should have dealt with the situation, you should not be moving class because of the outrageous behaviour of one parent. She should have spoken to the parent after that class. It annoys me when people say that you can't teach when children are messing about. Children mess about, pushing the boundaries and having fun doing it are all part of child development. Having good behaviour management skills and strategies to keep children on task is an essential part of being a teacher. Your child should keep doing what she enjoys, perhaps work with the teacher and develop some kind of treat/job for your daughter to have/do (even something small like helping put out or collect equipment). I hope this gets resolved for you soon.
  7. http://www.thewimbledondentist.co.uk/ Think this is her :)
  8. The only thing I would say is that the name may put off dads/other carers from coming along. I love hummy mummies, missing it terribly-I'll be back once I have recovered from my tonsillectomy. Anna :)
  9. I went in there today and was very impressed.
  10. Gutted I'm missing the first session of the new year. Both Scarlett and I have horrid colds. Hope to see you all next week, happy new year! Anna x
  11. I really loved that sculpture... I hope it hasn't been melted down already :(
  12. I would really like to sing something upbeat and fun! Something that makes you want to move!!! I really like The Lovecats by The Cure, I reckon that would be loads of fun to sing... I'm also secretly partial to a bit of lady gaga and cee-lo green! Any suggestions from anyone else?
  13. Mr Freedman had been my dentist since childhood. I was unaware he had passed away until the new dentist (Rashid) told me on Monday. So sad to hear he didn't get to enjoy his retirement. I always liked going to the dentists, he was so friendly and always interested in what I was doing.
  14. Just listened to the recordings. I think we are quite good! :D
  15. I normally teach reception class (on maternity leave at the moment though) These books have been popular with past classes: Stick Man by Julia Donaldson (not strictly a Christmas book but Santa turns up towards the end) Father Christmas needs a Wee The Jolly Christmas Postman Slinky Malinki's Christmas Crackers Dear Santa (same as Dear Zoo really) I haven't tried The Twelve Days of Christmas by Robert Sabuda yet, it looks lovely though. Have you been to Tales on Moon Lane? They usually have a fantastic selection of well chosen books. Might be worth a visit. Hope that helps :)
  16. I would happily take flyers to the other mum and baby activities we do if that's any help. Anna
  17. We had a fantastic time this morning. If anyone is thinking about coming along I highly recommend it. Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to next week already :D
  18. Does anyone know when this is? Or how I find out what film is showing? I can't find any information on their website and nobody is answering the phone at the cinema! Thanks
  19. I was wondering if there were any other single parents with babies who might like to meet up?
