New version of the forum coming - please test it for us...
Melihoople replied to Mark's topic in The Lounge
Web Links don't work? Is this because it is a test version? -
It depends on the staff ration. I think its supposed to be 1 staff to max 2 babies. At any time.

Can anyone reccomend a private midwife?
Melihoople replied to christinaH's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, Your other option is to phone and speak to Maxine Spencer who is the current the director of midwifery for kings. She will be able to make sure you get to the right team - for the post sept changes. -

Local legend Claire Kedves @BF Protest
Melihoople replied to Northeastview's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes. She is devastated & angry that this support is being withdrawn. Photo of her as protest. -
Sorry we didn't chat.. Did u get the manducca sorted. Lots of pretty slings today. If was such a good turn out though. The petition has 3282 signatures and the paper copies we added another 300 signatures. So much effort had gone into the sign making. I've heard lots of toddlers have been re creating protests this afternoon. I hope this makes a difference

Lanes midwives leaving the DMC?
Melihoople replied to busydoublemama's topic in The Family Room Discussion
What is the DMC?? -
Yes we will be going on tuesday and will feedback here. There is a facebook group - 'Save Kings College Community Breastfeeding Clinics' Also on facebook is the page of Kings MSLC (maternity services liason committee) lay members not affiliated with the trust who arevholding the meeting on tuesday. The petition has over 1600 signatures. It also has many heartfelt comments - we would like Kings to acknowlege these. We would also like to organise a demonstration to show Kings how much support this service has!! Please keep signing, sharing and tweeting https://www.change.org/p/kings-college-nhs-trust-save-kings-community-breastfeeding-clinics It is national breastfeeding awareness week - not that Kings would appear to care!

https://www.change.org/p/kings-college-nhs-trust-save-kings-community-breastfeeding-clinics Please Sign & Share! There is no support for infant feeding at Kings - this service saves mums. It's essential families don't loose access. It seems to be working! Up to 361 and counting. Please Sign, Comment, Share!

The service for mums needs to be local - especially hard for those who rely on public transport buggie. Anything you can find out.. I hope there are loud and vocal protests, many of the mums who have used the cafes have been in tears at the thought of the closure - as most would not have been able to bf without them. It's as simple as that.

This covers Southwark & Lambeth. Who comission services - GSTT who provide milk spots in their catchment are, as yet unaffected. Kings run in their catchment - peckham, bessemer, albrighton, cherry tree, rosendale, jessops, tree house & crown lane. (These are in both southwark & lambeth) They are all being stopped in 3 months time. No one knew about the proposed cuts not the staff, volunteers or councils. It was announced to the staff this week. Shows a disregard for women at such a vulnerable time & A total lack of understanding of the service being provided.

I have just been to Rosendale breastfeeding / milk spot and in a meeting yesterday they were told that they there funding was being cut and the Lambeth/Southwark service is being shut down! With 3 months notice. There is no provision for the fact that there is very patchy help anywhere else, in the form of GPs, Health visitors etc, they are the only way to be referred to the tongue tie clinic. Their help for women at a very vulnerable time is invaluable. This is the community services run by Kings! We must start a campaign for this decision to be reversed

Anna Cannon is an ibclc and midwife she runs several of the milk spots each week. Jessops on monday & rosendale on Wednesday but she will also does private. She is one of tongue tie team at kings too. I've had terrible trouble with both my children and wouldn't have made it without her.
