Goonies!
-
I promise that this isn?t a shameless attempt to bump my advert (but see classifieds section). I?m genuinely clueless. We?ve tried here on the Edf, and childcare.co.uk I?m starting to get a bit worried, as I can?t find anyone near us looking for a share. Am I just going about this wrong or is it pot luck?

Laundry detergent for baby with eczema??
Howl replied to LouLouMoving's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Might be worth giving infant probiotics a go. Biogaia are good. My eczema settles with good probiotics, not gone completely but loads better. I would also experiment with cutting out nuts as well as dairy, but you need to do one thing at a time otherwise you?ll drive yourself bananas. I think most drs would say that there?s no proven link between diet and eczema but seems much more research on how important the gut is to health and the immune system, so it makes sense to me... -
Laundry detergent for baby with eczema??
Howl replied to LouLouMoving's topic in The Family Room Discussion
How old is he LouLou? -
In case you haven?t been before...It?s a bit of a hike (and pricey unless you go 2 or 3 times a year) but we had some really good days out there. The playground is amazing. And make sure you catch one of the falconry displays. Have fun!

Wouldn?t it be easier going from Peckham rye or Nunhead, both of which run services to Bromley south? The p13 takes ages to get to West D doesn?t it?

Summer holiday clubs near Brockley 2018
Howl replied to applemarmelade's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My son did strings club in hilly fields when he was 4. LOVED IT. They have really great staff who really make it fun for the kids. He was definitely one of the youngest but didn?t matter -
eBay advice - item stinks of smoke!
Howl replied to LouLouMoving's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Disagree- no item comes with/is made smelling of smoke. It?s absolutely a ?not as described? issue and up to the seller to communicate. Just because some sellers oblige on the smoke free home point.... -
Should have also said that it seems to be part of a wider problem I have with the histamine response ....so look up histamine intolerance because fatigue is how my body reacts....
-
I was on the path to a chronic fatigue syndrome diagnosis when I discovered that it was soy that was literally sending me to bed - within hours of consumption. It?s a crazy reaction - very strong - and I shiver to think that I could be currently bedridden with a cfs diagnosis (was drinking soy milk every day)had I not been open to the possibility of food being at the root of it. Just saying it might be worth keeping a food diary if you haven?t already

eBay advice - item stinks of smoke!
Howl replied to LouLouMoving's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Absolutely - this isn?t ?as described? - get onto the seller first then try the resolution centre in Ebay if that doesn?t work I think you should be able to take for granted that it isn?t acceptable particularly for kids items -
Should have said my experience is from November 2017

Very positive birth experience at St Thomas?s- Cesarian, 2 nights on postnatal Ward. Partners allowed but I was the only one without one there and the midwives couldn?t have been more helpful. However, I had antenatal at kings (had to switched to st Ts for planned home birth ha ha like that happened). The care at the Harris fetal medicine centre is incredible and far surpassed the antenatal care at at Ts that I got with my first. It?s an amazing place and if you have the choice I?d recommend you start there.

Looking for Skateboarding Lessons for 5 year old
Howl replied to Howl's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there, I talked to Oliver at Skates and Ladders. He's suggested that a group less for beginners aged between 5-7 would be a good one. The kids will go at different paces in the long term, but a one-off lesson would give us all the chance to think about what we want to do going forward, whether the group gels, and gain advice from the instructor about how many lessons we might be looking at. Personally, I would be interested in just getting my son confident enough on the board to practice by himself, maybe hooking up for other lessons later on. Oliver estimated 6 lessons would be good, but said that until we were in front of an instructor it would be impossible to say. There's no commitment in just going for a one hour group lesson. The cost of a group lesson for the maximum numbers (5) is ?65. This works out about ?13. I'm guessing that Peckham Rye skate park might be a good place to do it - we're nearer Telegraph Hill skate park (also good). If you're interested please pm me - with your email address - stating your preferred location, and I will send out a doodle poll to find a good date - they do get busy at weekends, but I'm sure we can find a date for a one-off and see where we want to go from there. If you happen to be in the area of the skatepark at various times of day on the weekends could you let me know how busy they are too! If there are more than 5 we can look at getting two groups together. Hope that makes sense! Let me know! -
Looking for Skateboarding Lessons for 5 year old
Howl replied to Howl's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks Nicola! Very useful! If anyone has a 5 year old beginner and wants to start a group - my son has not started at all yet so that?s the level I?d be looking for..?! -
Has anyone found someone running lessons (group or individual)locally? Looking for someone who might teach on Peckham Rye or Telegraph Hill (preferably) skating parks.... We're about to have our second child so I don't want to go very far otherwise (and I'd be so rubbish at teaching him), but searched on the EDF and found only one ad and they didn't reply.

Hi there! Congratulations! We've got a meet up this Thursday at the Cherry Tree pub at 730 if you're around. There'll be another soon I'm sure if you can't and a fair few people are meeting up for play dates - if you pm Kelly (see up thread a little) she can add you to the WhatsApp group. Ellie -

Howl replied to Moderator Caroline's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I know...It's almost too good to be true, although today's a bit pants. A big 27 on Saturday last time I checked.... I'm one of the folk who can't do Wed 14 (can't do any Weds as Mr Howl works late then). I'd happily meet others on June 8 if anyone is up for it and maybe we can try for another date later in the month. Enjoying Whatsapp - even though I've been quiet - will say a hello there later. And thanks again Kelly for all the organisation! -

Great! Thanks Kelly. I think I might have accidentally entered all of my yes choices as 'if need be' - rather than yes. Oops. -

Amazing that there's so many people around to meet up (and I'm holding Kelly to the promise of being strangely-enormous-for-gestation like me - phew - so I don't feel like an odd one out). Any ideas where will take so many of us in East D?
