They are effectively banning them for the majority of Victorian given a typical terrace is only 4.5-5m wide over the main house and around 3m in the outrigger - a 1m indent isn’t going to leave you a lot if room. With the lack of ability to add space, I suspect a lot of families will need to leave the area as their kids get older which will lead to a drop in demand for school places (which is already in evidence anyway) as well as impacting local businesses.

We’ve got 2 kids at St Anthony’s, one of whom is a summer baby and doing absolutely fine with the transition to more formal learning. The school is great both in terms of academics and the atmosphere - happy to answer any specific questions if you want to DM me.

Our cat Dora has been missing since Thursday, which is very unusual for her (although she did go missing at a similar time last year). She is black and around 4.5kg - photo attached. We are at the top end of Lacon Road on the Archdale Road side - we don?t think she goes more than a few houses away and can?t get out of the gardens onto the roads, so think she?s wandered in to someone?s house and got stuck in their basement or shed, if you wouldn?t mind checking.

Hi Karmen! It?s def not too late. Send me your mobile and I will add you to the group. X -
Our cat, Alfie, a large silver and white tabby has been missing from the Crawthew end of Lacon Road (Archdale side). He?s got history of going missing during summer but has been gone since Saturday, which is a long time for him. If you could please check your sheds and send him on his way. Please send me a message if you see him. Update - now missing again.

Is this your cat? (Archdale Road)
pigglemarex replied to isthisyourcat?'s topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We used to see this cat all the time (Crawthew end of Lacon Road) - our cats used to regularly get into scraps with him - but not seen him for a while. I?m fairly sure he?s not a stray. The cat in the DulwichBorn&Bred?s photo isn?t the same one, but also see him/her with reasonable regularity. Our cat Alfie hasn?t come home for a few days if people wouldn?t mind checking their sheds or sending him on his way if you see him. He?s also a silver (tabby) and white and is quite large, so please don?t send him to Celia Hammond! Chip catflaps are the way to go if you want to keep other cats out. -

Hi Everyone - we are planning a meet up on Monday if anyone who has a baby on the way fancies joining us :-) -
I think it depends if the other children are also in the nanny's care full time. If one of the children is before and after school I am not sure that a 1/3rd share it totally fair. Also depends where the children will be all the time - if you will alternate houses perhaps a 1/3 shre is fine. Will your child be going to their house all the time as there is food to factor in etc.

I loved week to week - it broke everything down into one week chapters - which you read as you go along. So not a long book to read before or once baby has arrived and you are sleep deprived! Title: Your Baby Week By Week: The Ultimate Guide to Caring for Your New Baby -

Hi - It's only just getting started! I have added Coalakid to the whatapps group - PM me mobiles if anyone wants me to add them to whatsapp. JCG50 and Andypops do you want to be added? x -
There was a robbery at 8am this am. Staff are apparently ok but they police are currently finger printing / gathering evidence. Only 2 tills working so long queues. I am glad all the staff are ok. I cannot believe they are going dillergently about their work. Yet still people are complaining how long police are taking and why can?t they open tills?!? So you may want to factor in a little longer for your M&S shop X

The more the merrier! PM me your mobiles and I will add. I am with the home birth team - they are lovely. I may not get a home birth due to my stupid blood pressure but they will still stay my midwives. Plus even if you are well enough to have a homebirth you can always change your mind and opt for a hospital birth, even in the thick of it. x -

Hello Holwil86 - welcome to ED and congratulations! ED is a GREAT place to have maternity leave - I am sure Andypops will agree. I have made some really good friends from a previous EDF group and hope to make some more through this group. Shall we start up a whatsapp and facebook group now there are 3 of us? If people PM with their mobile numbers me we can add people who want to join, when they find this thread. I recommend this class http://bumpandbabyclub.com/antenatal-classes/east-dulwich/ Book soon though. Its also significantly cheaper than the NCT classes and covers a lot more. I found NCT focused far more on just the birth and not the after bits - like keeping the tiny human alive! Catherine x -

How to get to London Zoo?
pigglemarex replied to Dulwich Born And Bred's topic in The Family Room Discussion
What about the 37 to Brixton and then the Victoria line all the way to Euston? Victoria line is really quick and the trains are new so easy with a buggy. A bit of a walk but step free all the way! 29 min walk or you can grab a black cab. It's 7 minutes. I can't drive either and can second that Denmark hill way would be easy as well. Step free etc. X -

Have you tried city mapper app. It's awesome. There is also one called mumerground - that tells you number of stairs on a route so you can decide if it will be easy to bump your buggy down or up them. X -
Another recommendation for Hamish and his team. It took them most of the day to take down and grind the stump of a large sycamore. They were tidy, very communicative (they were doing a neighbors tree at the same time so were letting me know when they would be coming back etc) and very respectful of noise while coming through the house. He and his team were also very careful not to barge in to the room I was in so as not to disturb me breastfeeding my daughter. I did not tell them I was but they just assumed - I was rather impressed at that attention to detail. In general very friendly, professional and highly respectful of clients and their houses. They also worked very very hard on what was the hottest day of the year. Will definitely use them again.
