She's fine. I thought about calling the police but the last time I asked them to sort out my laptop being nicked out of my house, it was such a nightmare and they were so unreliable about it that I ended up waiting inside for 13 hours for them to come and 'investigate'. It just would have made the whole thing more of a trial. If they contact her again, I will ring them though...

Hi all, I just wanted to let you know about a rather unpleasant experience I had with a company called super pizza on Friday. Went round to a mate's who's moved into a flat near peckham rye recently and we decided to order a pizza. We took the admittedly dubious option of ordering off one of the 2 pizza leaflets she'd had shoved through the letter box since she'd moved in. The company took forever to find the place (the Gardens is reasonably well-known - no?), telling us about an hour after we'd rung that they'd be there in ten minutes (forty minutes later the food arrived.) The order was wrong and cold so I rang them up and they sent more pizza (again wrong but this time in 10 minutes) We had sort of given up by this point so just left it. What followed though was atterly bizarre and unpleasant - my friend received 3 utterly obscene texts, obviously from the delivery guys. When I called up the company to complain, the man at the other end of the phone shouted at me that it wasn't his drivers but I made him take down the mobile number that kept texting her nonetheless. The whole thing was stupid and quite creepy - especially when my friend is clearly aware that these men know where she lives.

I think that might have been me - and you're welcome. Nice to know he found his way home. He looked like a well-loved chap...

Hi all, I got off the 78 bus last night near Peckham Rye station and there were about 200 people, all late teens/twenties, all white/all bustling and chatting outside a barred gate as if something was about to happen. But what was it?

Wanted: Nice looking woman to start the year with... (Lounged)

I'm sorry I didn't see all of this yesterday or I would have come along! How did it go? Did people look nice? Or nice-looking? Did the hedge backwards people get on? Did the semantic pedants turn up and take the opportunity to meet others as pernickity as themselves about adjectives? Did Miles have fun? Miles and miles of fun? Did people reveal their EDF names or pretend they were someone else? So many questions and ways of phrasing them... I hope it was a fun evening, anyway. -
Might be worth leaving a basin of water on the inside of your front door. I know you shouldn't have to but while you wait for the police to get it sorted out...

Half of a Yellow Sun is a fantastic story about Nigeria in the period when a civil war sparked the emergence of a burgeoning nation - Biafra. I read it on holiday in France in the summer. Beautifully written, genuinely compaelling and also interesting on a historical level.

If you fancy a change of Thai restaurant, you could try Sema Thai. I've been there a few times and I always find the food tasty, the staff helpful and the atmosphere congenial. I haven't been to Thai Corner before...
