  1. Yep, low water pressure light on the power shower since yesterday - we are between Landcroft and Crystal Palace Roads.
  2. Not Coward or Redding. Gallagher perchance?
  3. Just had a guy call at the house saying his firm was in the area doing general works and would I be interested in someone calling round later to do a quote. He offered no ID, or any leaflet identifying the company. I also have a "No cold callers" sign displayed prominently on my fromt door... Declined the offer but then saw through my twitching net curtains that there was another guy also doing the same thing. Bearing in mind the number of burglaries and similar reported on the forum recently I just thought I'd post so that people can be on their guard. Of course it may be legitimate, in which case I shall seek medical attention...
  4. Cremation followed by scattering of ashes in Ullswater for me...
  5. We will never get a Waitrose now...
  6. I would also add my recommendation for Steve The Spin Doctor (07921777428). Came on time, fixed the thermostats on our aging tumble dryer, for the agreed call out charge. The Terrapin Household Will definitely be using his services again!
  7. Moorfields Eye Hospital used to run research programmes where you can volunteer subject to the condition affecting your eyesight and the trials they are running. I had mine done 11 years ago in a LASEK V LASIK machine trial - they wanted to establish which technique worked best with a laser they were intending to purchase. The preoperative and postoperative care was superb. There is a cost associated, which for me was less than the cost of Harley Street, with the security of knowing I was in one of the world's best eye hospitals. I have never looked back since, with reading glasses obviously (*groans*)... Good luck!

Should probably be in the "Things that cause you irrational rage" thread...
  9. Travelling Salesman walks up to the door and knocks. An out of breath twelve year old boy answers the the door dressed in high heels, fishnets, a basque, and bunny ears. He's smoking a huge Cuban cigar, and he's cradling a glass of the finest Rioja. "Are your parents in?" asks the Travelling Salesman. He replies "Does it f*cking look like they're in?"
  10. Paleness 3" above the ankle.
  11. Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Dental School is on your doorstep in Camberwell. I would imagine this kind of procedure is commonplace and is the kind of thing that Trainee Dental Practitioners need to learn under supervision. Under a similar Training regimen I had my myopia corrected at Moorfields Hospital as part of a research/training programme. I work at King's and get on very well with my counterpart in the GSTTKCH Dental School so I am sure I can find some information for you. Please PM me if that helps.
  12. Maledict is now back home safe and sound after his fortnight's adventure living as a Dulwich Village Blow-In! Huge thanks to everyone who kept an eye out for him - it is much appreciated! Best wishes from Mr and Mrs Terrapin (very relieved) and Maledict (wondering what the fuss was all about)!
  13. No sign as yet. Some leaflets and posters have been put up in and around Dulwich Park. One of the Park Rangers thinks a similar large cat was seen in the car park near the Park Offices close to the chapel gate. A copy of the poster/leaflet is attached - if you could check your gardens and sheds we would be grateful.
  14. Maledict is a good looking 7 year old all black Maine Coon cat. He has yellow eyes and is semi-long haired and due to a car accident has a damaged rear leg which makes him walk at quite a jaunty angle! He was last seen near the temporary stage in Dulwich Park at about 17:00 on Saturday 9th May. He answers to the names "Maledict", "Mally" or "Boo boo". He is quite shy and we are hoping that he is holed up in the undergrowth somewhere in the park or possibly someone's back garden. He is microchipped and very well known at both Lordship Lane Vets and The Neighbourhood Vet. If you are out and about and see him then I would be very grateful if you could post and let us know. Many, many thanks. Mr and Mrs Terrapin
  15. More joined-up thinking from The Dulwich Estate... Signed.
  16. Blow-ins...
  17. I can throughly recommend Laura from Garden Service. She came around quickly to have a look and provide a quote, turned up when agreed, and has done a fantastic job with minimal mess and disruption. We will be using her again and would advise others to do the same! Her details are: e) GardenService81@gmail.com m) 07714778024
