Dog poo is disgusting and a health hazard. Most people are well trained to pick up after their dogs, and some go the extra mile in picking up obvious stuff just because it?s the right thing to do. A bit like some cyclists breaking red lights, some drivers breaking the speed limit etc etc Unfortunately a minority give the rest of us a bad name.

Annoying words that have cropped up in our language

?Super? as a prefix to an adjective. All a bit David Harris Jones in my humble opinion? -
This big beautiful boy wandered in yesterday afternoon but has not moved more than a couple of feet since then. He is fine to stroke but is a little hissy if you touch his back or tail. Wife is WFH so going to phone vets as we think he is injured and if needs be will take him to Medivet . We are local to The Castle pub on Crystal Palace Road. Please PM if you belong to him.

Cat's foot run over by a car

Sorry to hear about Gordon passing. Sounds like he was a very popular cat, and known to many EDF peeps. Over Rainbow Bridge he?ll have lots of company, and lots of much loved furry friends. Sorry for your loss. -

Great News - Good News Tuesday - Let?s make news...good news
FriendsOfTheTerrapin replied to ED Light's topic in The Lounge
In complete confidence my a***hhole boss told me on Monday he had found another job. I could hardly suppress my condolences... Today I find out that his minion had cleared his desk and walked out too. More suppressed sadness... I read this and The Hamlet are coming home! Fantastic news! A victory for the community! On the flip side I have to come down because the U2 tickets arrived for the O2 tomorrow night... A lager company once said that they don't do "Great Weeks in Life", but if they did... -
Is this your cat? (Archdale Road)

Microchip cat flap is the best solution. Range from ?50 upwards. Try Zooplus.co.uk - other retailers are available! We installed and once you have trained the home moggies it works a treat - particularly if the invader is un-neutered and spraying. As with most pests the trick is to deprive them of food and shelter and they will go elsewhere. We had someone feeding one of ours when he needed his diet and medication strictly regulated. Once Mrs Terrapin went over and had a chat, the food was no longer put outside the back door, and he stopped going round there. Good luck! -
Back in the early 1970's my Mum and Dad bought a house in Wandsworth off a band mate of Roy Wood (The Move, Wizzard etc.). They were shown round the house and commented on one of bedrooms that had been painted entirely purple - walls, ceilings, door, window frame, everything - and were told that Jimi Hendrix was a good friend and often stayed over. This was his room apparently. Upon moving into the house M+D proceeded to renovate everything, including the loo which was across the landing from the Purple room. They removed an overhead cistern, loo, and the unfashionable wooden loo seat, installing one of those fetching, and much more fashionable, avocado bogs. Dad safely stashed the wooden loo seat away in the loft, and in the many subsequent house moves that they undertook always kept Jimi Hendrix' bog seat close. Imagine his dismay when during another move and renovation, he was out of the country, and the builders skipped Jimi's bog seat! Not quite hindsight, but would have possibly cheered up an episode of Antiques Roadshow...

Do you suspect your neighbour is a Blow In? Noticed any strange behaviour at weekends?
