  1. I had a lovely Sunday lunch in Inside 72 the other week. Roast beef and yorkshire - all cooked to perfection and only ?7.....was top quality. the music is pretty loud though and it's small and smokey so great if that's what you want but it doesn't have as good an atomostphere as some of the other pubs on a Sunday. The other great place (although not strictly East D) is The Rye Hotel - superb food, superb atmosphere and child friendly. But get there before 1pm as it gets busy!
  2. I agree that it doesn't seem feasible to totally pedestrianise - i think all that is needed is one more pedestrian crossing - currently it is a nightmare to cross such a busy road especially given it's on a bit of a bend so you can't see cars and buses coming at you from all angles. . Ideal place would be just near the the Bishop/ Black Cherry bars in my opinion......Or at least an 'island' - the amount of times i've stood in the middle of the road stranded!
  3. If the one you're talking about being near Peckham Rye station is the one i'm thinking of, it's really nice. i'm sure it's called Il Sardinia (just up from Bar Storey). It's almost eccentric and it feels as though the people who own it have been there for years. Inside it's all candelit and cosy. the food isn't 100% italian, for instance there's other european influences there like turkish starters etc. but a lot of the main courses are italian. i had spagetti with clams which was gorgeous. it's got a really friendly, homely vibe and had a lovely atmostphere when i went. would recommend it!
