  1. Thank you New Wave. That's really helpful advice, and thanks for donating. Dillan has already reached the half way mark to her total. Big thanks to the EDF community for supporting her.
  2. See the link! Fundraiser to help ED Stables keep going during Covid. Please support if you can, or just come along on the day to cheer on Rocky and Dillan. Thank you! https://www.gofundme.com/f/dillan-and-rockys-sponsored-valentines-walk?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&fbclid=IwAR1mIKh3dEhB0RhiP9TeR0txhmcwaJm-mB2QrMdXp3wysycMSw6ZD8gI57M
  3. Yes Lynne, I also wrote to Helen Hayes and got a similar response from Royal Mail off the back of it. Since starting this thread, I'm still not getting my mail regularly; I get nothing for ages and then a big pile delivered all at once. This included a new bank card which I'd given up on ever receiving and which, by then, I'd already reported to my bank as lost in transit. I do not buy the excuse that the mail disruption is all down to Covid. If it were, all neighbourhoods would have the same problem, but they don't! I'm in no doubt that this is to do with the closing of the East Dulwich sorting office. Residents objected to this at the time and were ignored by Royal Mail. I'd therefore encourage everyone to keep raising this with their MP and local Councillors!
  4. Is anyone else not getting any regular post at the moment, or is it just me? I'm expecting some letters which were definitely sent, but no sign of my postie for days now?
  5. Exactly, JamesBond 2007! We had this problem about 6 months ago, and again before that. I was so fed up last time, I insisted Thames Water pay me the compensation, under their policies. The water rates are not cheap and its not ok that they have failed to sufficiently deal with this recurring problem. As for the 'updates' on their websites, telling customers that they are 'dealing with it' (what does that even mean?) and will 'update again' in a few hours (as if they have told us anything remotely useful), is unacceptable. I'm fuming!
  6. Yes, Theatre Peckham, of course! Don't know why anyone would go anywhere else! Both my kids attended ( now young adults), learned great skills (sufficient for one of them to get into the BRIT school), and made great friends who they are still in contact with. My little nephew is also attending, so the next generation of our family is also coming through TP. I love TP, because it has great heart and huge love for children of all backgrounds. The Director, Teresa Early, deserves a knighthood, in my opinion! Google it, Your daughter will love it!
  7. We had no water for a period on Tues on Overhill Rd. Why, then, are Thames Water suggesting today's problem is something new which they are just now responding to? Why didn't they fix it on Tuesday? Grrrr! Think I'll request a refund of my water rates for the days concerned...
  8. P.S Moak, the local Councillor with portfolio for Leisure is Cllr Barrie Hargrove ( [email protected]). Copy him into your email to Tara Quinn - you might want to direct them to the comments on the Forum. I don't use the pool myself, but people are clearly not happy!
  9. Oops! sorry Moak. It's a typo! Should read tara.quinn@ southwark.gov.uk ( not 'org' as previous). Good luck! Hope others posting here will also contact her.
  10. Haven't read everything in this thread, but for everyones info, yes, Southwark does contract out it's leisure centre management to Fusion, but retains responsibility for managing that contract to ensure residents are getting value for money. The contact at Southwark ( the person with direct responsibility for liaising with Fusion) is Tara Quinn ([email protected]). If you are unhappy, you can email her to complain formally. Southwark is obliged to respond to formal service complaints. Hope that helps!
  11. Yep, Theatre Peckham (to the rear of the former Southwark Town Hall) Both my my kids, now teens, have attended for years. It's a thoroughly fantastic place, in my opinion - eldest was subsequently accepted into the Laban and youngest into The Brit. Your child will get to perform regularly in front of an audience and will be part of the lovely warm and inclusive TP community. Nuff said!
  12. Sadlers Wells do regular performances of ballet for kids, like Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Performances are shorter than conventional ballets and, in my experience, are always outstanding.
  13. It's not being demolished! It's being renovated by Hexagon housing association. The building will be conserved and turned into flats. About time too! It's been in a state of terminal decline for over 20 years. I'm glad it's finally being turned into homes, whilst preserving it historic features.
