Went to the Rosendale with friends for saturday lunch as the place was recommended. it was piss poor. cold food on cold plates, one main course didn't arrive at all. Waitress ( v stressed ) said it was ' cause no one in the kitchen or the other floor staff speak english ' bit of a drawback that, methinks ! we were in the bar bit, suppose the restaurant is better, but it's the same kitchen. Will give it a miss in future, shame really after all the hype.

Been a big fan of the Herne to date but had a bad experience this afternoon at lunch,ordered a steak medium and got the well - done version, when I pointed it out I was told by the manager ( ? ) that it was Medium and that was it !!!Take it or leave it ! Have been a regular since it opened and thought that the approach was wrong. Moving from from being quite disposed to the Herne to feeling slightly uneasy about the place. When we got the bill ( 4 0f us ) the steak wasn't included but that was not the point. Isn't a contented customer the most important thing, from their point of view ? Perhaps they should of offered something else off the menu ?Feel uneasy about the place now, which is a shame as they have revolutionized the place from the point of view of young families. Not sure I'd go back now !

what's up with their meathead bouncers ? Rocked up there this evening with Mrs Baily and they acted like it was the Ivy not some dodgy bar in ED. Most strange, will give them a wide berth in future ! Anybody else had any gip from them ?

just been there for lunch, very poor indeed, food ( sunday roasts ) came in a very suspicious 1 minute after ordering and was of a very poor standard, shame as it's a good location, large garden and ideal after a walk in Cox's Wood.

had EB in the black cherry last weekend, not bad bit too heavy on the hollandaise IMHO, good coffee though.

these guys are okay just a little aloof, agreed could be more friendly, nothing compared to the moody guy from SMBS ( same company ? ) the middle aged unshaven guy, think he's the bossman, now he is one misantrope and the younger guys are wicked. All a bit strange.

the worst ever sunday lunch/brunch was last year, upstairs at the East Dulwich Tavern, quite simply appalling, cripplingly bad!

The guys that come around weekly to pick up the blue boxes manage to leave loads of paper, tin cans etc on the streets, is there anyone we can contact about this at the council or has it been outsoursed to a private company ? Anyone know the score ?
