  1. "Rye Books should move in. A bit out of the way where they are now." I'd have thought if Rye Books moved to LL their rent would be a lot more than their present location on Upland. Bookshops' margins are pretty slim.
  2. What's more disturbing is the description of the victim's injuries and on-going health problems. It might have happened to any of us enjoying Dulwich Park that day and I continue to feel very sorry for the poor man. I still think of him whenever I'm in the park.
  3. Yep, got a pair of fully-functioning kidneys here too. Cheers!
  4. DMd, Ruby.
  5. I took a picture of a dog standing outside Dulwich Grove polling station on election day in May 2015 and the picture has been used in a book by the writer John O'Farrell who would like to send a copy to the pet owner (if they'd like one). If anyone knows the person, please ask them to get in touch with me via the forum.

Its the Location Manager who ensures there's no damage and their insurance should cover it (as per the agreement you sign) but of course, accidents happen. It must be very rare for a property needing 10k of repairs. Have you some experience of extensive damage from a location shoot?

  9. No bin-lookers here either. In fact, I was thinking of starting up a support group if you're interested. Meet at my place and any minutes we take will placed at the very top of the bin.
  10. I was told of an a marvellous storm viewer last night so followed its progress across southern England till about eleven but was largely asleep throughout the night. Have a look here. Best with sharing your location: https://www.lightningmaps.org Nasty across Belgium at the moment!
  11. Given the name-check, I have a feeling the mods will remove this post pretty soon.
  12. We were wondering just yesterday how many Boris/Santander bikes have been nicked. There are loads of them around south London boroughs being ridden by people who really don't look like they've been 'obtained' legally. Presumably it's common knowledge how to hack then use them for criminal activity.
  13. Probably worth warning the owner, if you can tell which house?
  14. The problem I have with BT is not so much an early morning outage or slow-down but regular router re-boots throughout the day.
  15. As Kford says, it's a 146 lowering its flaps as part of landing checks a few thousand feet above (I took in its route-proving in the mid-80s, the first time it was noticed outside BAe) but not one at a cruising altitude when flaps are retracted. I hear it all the time over us near Denmark Hill and see it on Flightradar. It is unnerving when you don't know what on earth it is!
  16. Distinctive name. Perhaps this is she? https://www.linkedin.com/in/hannah-blythman-sanders-44298567/?ppe=1 There's also an address further down the Google search result.
  17. Heard them on Denmark Hill.
  18. Ditto Wimpole. Every time I enter the park I think of the young victim. Wishing him well. Ruskin.
  19. Spare a thought for the bar staff who breathe the stuff in. Our daughter worked bar shifts locally during holidays and came home furious when a regular vaped close-by at the bar, sending a large cloud across her work area. It's one of the factors why she's sworn never to do bar work again.
  20. Also thinking of the victim this morning. Updates will be appreciated.
  21. Nothing on news sites although there was a higher-profile item about the arrest of a young man "with knives' in Whitehall this afternoon.
  22. "What Court Lane incident???" Apologies, I meant the Calton Avenue incident on 8th Dec: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1762335,1764407#msg-1764407 Amended my post.
  23. We're no longer a schoolchildren-age family so school news like this is off our radar too. There's nothing on Twitter under #eastdulwich or #goosegreen and as much as some hate the idea of Twitter, it does get messages like this out. As we found with the Calton Avenue attempt on 6th December, news does filter out eventually but there was a delay. Edited.
