  1. there's a whole lot of crap, as usual. good luck to you, lav27.
  2. waking up in your own vomit is a sign of an alcohol problem. and if there is a problem, you won't be happy or even able to do the following. for one week, have 4 days with no alcohol, and only drink half bottle of wine on the other 3. no doubt you're a party animal and don't have a problem. but you may think differently in 10 or 20 years when you're facing breast cancer. happy friday night.
  3. Is anyone in the area who knows why the helicopter is out?
  4. Is there a description of the owner?
  5. Like not answering the phone if the caller's number isn't known, I never open the door before asking 'who is it'? If I'm not interested, a simple 'no thank you' sends them away.
  6. Helping a friend find a lost gold earring. It perhaps could be found at Frank's bar or on Rye Lane or on Peckham Road. Thanks for reading.
  7. Congratulations to Pearspring for improving the Lordship Lane community.
  8. Prompted by this post, I started looking when out running. There's a huge wall at 16 Playfield Crescent.
  9. I've joked that I'm voting for George Clooney. Seems like best option at the moment.
  10. I recently diligently (and stupidly) bought advanced train tickets from Southern rail from East Dulwich to Gatwick Airport at a cost of ?11.90 each way. I wasted my money as if I'd tapped in using my credit card, the cost would have been only ?6.60. Can anyone explain the sense of this price difference?
  11. I support Woodstock. I love other people's dogs, but I hate and resent having to clear up their dog crap left on the pavement outside the house. Toosmart1973 - put your phone number on this thread so I can call you up to do the crap clearing.
  12. Stay strong cazzyr. Upon first reading, my immediate thought was that assault was a gang initiation.
  13. Identity theft may not be the intention, but worth knowing about. http://www.securitynewsdesk.com/demand-for-locking-wheelie-bins-rises-as-identity-theft-runs-rampant/
  14. Yep. Unsure if that's allowed, but the guards didn't seem too worried.
  15. Watch your heels inside London Bridge station as Uber Eats cyclists (rivals to Deliveroo) zip around at rush hour. They're up for a war of words, so do politely tell them off if you want to see a stellar example of obnoxiousness.
  16. Since the Brexit vote, we've made an extra effort to support the local immigrants who've contributed to ED's greatness. And Boulangerie Jade's cakes and breads are great.
  17. From 1 Sept, the TV Licence rules will change - expanded to include watching BBC iPlayer. Watching other catch-up (ie ITV) is not affecting and still will not need the licence. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/aug/01/bbc-iplayer-tv-licence-iplayer-loophole
  18. Leave a biscuit out. If it disappears, it's a rat. If it's nibbled in the same spot, it's a mouse.
  19. Thanks for the advice. But I'm going to stick to the trains. A healthy, brisk walk to Denmark Hill will take me to City Thameslink Station (close enough to the City) without the stress of Southern. I may get a scooter if the City streets can absorb it (I doubt it though at rush hour). Cycling on London's roads is still not for me, but I really appreciate the support. Love hearing about cycling trains - surely the way forward on a mass scale.
  20. Many thanks for this great tip.
  21. Really? I didn't know this - and yes it may well change things. Hmmmm.... Are there special maps showing cycle routes? I can't immediately find anything online.
  22. Does anyone commute to the London Bridge area on an adult kick scooter? I'm considering this as a replacement to the trains. I'm far too chicken to cycle and walking is too slow. I'd love to hear your tips, etc.
  23. I saw Kate Lassman Long from Cradle to Grave at East Dulwich train station, kind of near Sainsburys.
  24. the chaps opening our bins were not wearing veolia jackets or anything that would indicate something official. so, i will continue to be alert as they may be copy cat inspectors. there have too many recent burglaries and this seems too much of a coincidence.
  25. Thanks for this - interesting. Were they wearing anything that identified them as such? I hope our 'bin inspectors' were the same, even though were wearing hoodies, but perhaps they were chilly.
