  1. Such a shame. A friend in North London has a few kiddie cafes to choose from and we could really do with more here!
  2. If I can find it I have a support that helped me with similar during my pregnancy that you could borrow?
  3. Just to add a note about the "bag it and bin it" signs on the pavement, I had to walk around the guy painting one on Ondine Road (am guessing 4 months ago?) and it's almost completely gone, so they seem a bit of a waste of time and money. Like similar thoughts above, doubt those not picking up now will be influenced by notices? I think we all try to avoid it but you can't look at every single step you take? I too wish owners would do what they're supposed to, the stuff is gross and a health hazard.
  4. Hi Natty, please see the replies above, you will I guess see a thread set up by the admin soon. We had Spring 2015 babies already so this is an old thread so we can't really help? Or of course you could just start your own new thread and wait for others who are due then to join? Congrats and good luck for Spring!
  5. From the racket outside just now we just had the noisy "pleasure" of their company down Ondine Rd. Cannot believe how loud it was! Couldn't go look as trying to feed the baby and hoping it wouldn't wake everyone!!
  6. Fab news! Did think one looked empty today but was driving past so couldn't be sure. Thanks to who called it in.
  7. Ta very much Pickle11!! I have booked them.
  8. Get some quotes from loft companies. We got 4 in. 2 said they'd have to lower the ceiling and 2 didn't, we went with our favoured of those 2. It's not massively high, think it's 2.1m? (I'm 5ft 7 and can touch the ceiling with my fingertips if I reach up) but it's absolutely fine and you get so much from it (we got a bedroom and shower room and small landing). The loft company did the planning bit, can't help re your road but someone has to be first?
  9. Anyone know who should be emptying these and when? Noticed they've beeb overflowing for a while now. Glad I don't live near them but it's unpleasant to walk past when I am walking down there.
  10. We had a really noisy grunting baby between 5am and 8am for many of the early weeks. We even tried a Cranial Osteopath. I feel like he actually grew out of it (tho Osteo may well have helped as mentioned his stomach area was all a bit out of line). We still have the occasional night time lifting up both legs and slamming down but the noise went a while back. He's 5 months now. Hope yours grows out of it soon, in the meantime I found earplugs helped me sleep and filter out some of the noise but you can still hear when they're asking for food.
  11. Hi, does anyone have a recommendation for a taxi firm in Tenerife which will provide car seats? Travelling with a 2 year old and 5 month old. We're not hiring a car so just need transport between airport and apartment. Thanks!
  12. New Look and only about ?15 full price. Order a selection online and can take those back you don't like as I think it varies if people like under or over bump. If you do order online don't pay with PayPal as means refund is only allowed via credit note.
  13. I take photos on my iPhone then email it to myself (goes via hotmail but to the "mail" app) be it always asks what size so pick medium or small then use the emailed version of the photo. No other editing required!
  14. Went to Puerta Pollensa in August, great place and we were there with 2yr old and 3 month old. Loads of good restaurants, beach was good for kids and lots of shady trees. We stayed at the Puerto Azul which had 3 great pools and bedroom, shower room and lounge/ eating area (just with a fridge).
  15. Agree re removing rhe claw from the bars, read same article. We have a Motorola MBP41. Love it so bought another for baby 2. Not cheap but lucky to get on offer both times. Currently half price in Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchMobile?storeId=10151&catalogId=25051&langId=110&searchTerm=Mbp41#customer_reviews As someone said, means you can see if they really need you (or just lying there shouting for you trying it on). Also v useful for babysitting as if you're lucky to have a sleeper the babysitter can see all is ok (sometimes silence is worrying!) I can't imagine not having it now. This one has a really large panning range so in future could use for a whole room to watch kids when playing for example. Downsides: Goes off when microwave on (so just move it) When sat on a surface it can't look down easily as it can't see over the base (we just get clever with propping up when we visit (at home it's attached to wall so no issue)) No temperature of room indicator (had on old one so shame to lose that info)
  16. Sorry to hear this, I've been wondering how on earth it'll work when we move our 2 year old to a bed (and when to do it as she moves around her cot all night currently!) My thoughts when reading your post went to what I've read on here and other places on potty training where they say if it's not working wait and try again later. Can you go back to the last bed or cot and wait until he wants to move to this one? (While working away on confidence/him liking new one or him asking to move?) Or get him to decorate this one (stickers) or choose new bedding he has picked out? Hope it's fixed for you v soon, missing sleep is so hard.
  17. Sorry to hear. Doesn't sound promising. Where did you find details originally? Any recourse through that avenue? Have you tried googling any details you do have to see what comes up? Then last steps, not sure what might be covered under any insurance you might have. If it's over ?100 and you paid by credit card (not debit) then you can get money back from credit card company I believe?
  18. BI sold my flat in Copleston Rd in 2012 and was affected due to this. I actually lost out twice. Caught by the surveyor even tho 60 foot from house at bottom of garden. I had never heard of it so was unaware of issue or that it is illegal to cut it down and dispose of unless done a certain way. My buyer's mortgage company refused mortgage so they had to find another with different terms so they dropped their offer price (blow #1). Then I had to use a specialist company to treat it and certify there was a 5 year plan in place. This cost over ?2k (blow #2). The only silver lining there is this was split with neighbours as it was half and half across our 2 gardens. Obviously since I moved out have no idea if it's all gone and will stay gone. For something with pricey results I wish it was more well known. It's apparently rife near train lines. Interestingly the flat was actually the other side of Copleston from the train tracks. The company treating it had a few more clients locally at the time. I needed the certificate to sell (not that I'd have tried to treat myself. I had nearly cut it down the day before the survey as it was getting big and in the way of the shed. No idea if surveyor would have still spotted it and I would have had no idea what I was cutting down!!
  19. Pretty sure it was last "Pretty Pregnant" clothes shop as used that summer of 2013
  20. Anyone know what they were filming in Willis B this morning? Windows were all covered and lots of film vehicles parked up.
  21. Off on holiday soon with a 3 month old and 2 year old. Not sure whether to get a lightweight cheapish double buggy or 2 singles to use when going abroad? Anyone got any advice on what has worked best for them? I'm erring toward the double so only one parent needs push? I figure the 2 year old will still need option of sitting/sleeping in buggy for a couple of years yet? Thanks in advance!
  22. Our new baby boy gave our daughter the Mothercare/ELC Cupcake My Baby Brother and a blue pushchair. As someone else said it's now naked and we call it Dolly so it's become more female. Went down well. It does have batteries and would say "mama" "papa" and laugh when tickled and suck from the bottle when put to it's mouth but we haven't shown her that yet for sanity sake!
  23. Hi all, Thanks for the replies. They called me Saturday morning and came out to me first. Apparently an admin error meant my name didn't get put in the right place on the Friday list. I did mention that there is no info given on what happens if you're forgotten. And apparently they work 365 days! I had the helpline and other numbers if needed it was more a question of staying in (for nothing) and having no "active" way of contacting other than leaving a voicemail.
  24. Not sure re the bringing food but the first things that came to mind were upstairs at the following: Le Chandelier EDT Palmerston Clockhouse Maybe compromise on bringing in the food and they might just let you bring in a cake?
  25. Congrats on the arrival of Robin! I've been meaning to post for a while but didn't want to update via my phone without a keyboard and have finally remembered to log in on my laptop! We were surprised by baby Leo arriving on his due date 15th May and in under 4 hours including a rush to the hospital in an ambulance! I'm sure my neighbours were thrilled at the 2 paramedic cars and ambulance blocking our one-way street! Settling into the new routine and thankfully my toddler is so far happy to stroke his head and kiss his head (and is obsessed with his little feet) but I'm sure she'll play up more soon! Now the weather is starting to perk up a bit hopefully we can do some meet ups soon - feel free to suggest dates anyone and we can see what we can organise. I'll be toddler-free on Mondays/Thursdays/Fridays from next week. I loved going to baby cinema last time around so anyone interested in the Peckham screenings on Thursdays at 11.30 let me know as I plan to go a lot! Unfortunately I won't be able to go to the Wednesday ones at the new ED cinema as I'll have Amber on those days too. Ginny, Amber and Leo
