I also braved Sainsburys 6pm yesterday (31st), first time out the house in 8 days. Queue ok but too busy inside, very hard to keep 2 meters (and some people not even trying or seeming to care). No flour, no tinned tomatoes or pulses, about 10 tins of organic baked beans, no pasta. However, managed to get everything else and even loo roll so they have been restocking a lot. Sadly there was actually too much meat and many of it best before 1st April so now feel will go from empty shelves to waste unfortunately! In general I was actually quite shocked at how many people seemed to be out and about on my short drive to the shop. It could well be they were all on their rationed shop/exercise/commute but naively perhaps I thought I'd hardly see a soul.

Trouble Trying To Buy A CPZ Parking Permit On-Line?
Ginster replied to Zak's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
To offer a ray of hope I was just able to buy a year permit! First tried last week. Finally managed to log back in after getting password reset and they said I was recognised (finally, had previously uploaded very empty bank statement page) and credit card payment worked. Note was on an Android phone. Lots of notes on page for Apple users. Good luck! -

Thanks, I was just coming here to ask the same. Especially now people are being told its impossible to pay from Apple devices?!?! I haven't been able to get very far through the process and I'm not sure if next step is waiting for them to get back to me or if I need to do something. -
Trouble Trying To Buy A CPZ Parking Permit On-Line?

Same here - waiting to see if they get back to me as don't want to buy a month if I can help it as imagine it'll work out more expensive? -
Ondine Road one has a yellow sign (again) with extra note "please remove all your cabs from Southwark"

It's not all inclusive but the flights to Italy we've had for 3 years in a row have been half the price of Spain (this was July/August). We loved Pra D'elle Torri and this year trying Union Lido. Both massive campsites (but also have hotels) so many different accommodation types. Have lots of facilities and activities and the pools are amazing. Might be worth checking out. You fly to Venice for these 2 and get a bus to campsites.

2nd the review above - both our two loved their time there!

One good bit of news - someone was arrested for breaking into cars on Ondine Road last night. -

Neighbours think Ondine Rd ones were 10pm. 1 theft, one had a hole in every single window so maybe targeted or vandalism -

2 on Ondine Road 2 nights ago (Monday 3rd) 1 seemed to be just wanton damage, another I have heard about things stolen from the car. -
Just when I found out the significance of them they removed them all from the Dog Kennel Hill estate on the road facing Sainsburys. Seemed a shame, and nothing was put in it's place so where did they go and why were they removed? This was maybe 2-3 years ago I think?

School children being mugged in Dulwich
Ginster replied to BlueOrchid's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I saw 2 police officers outside Charter (near Sunray) last week at home time so this probably explains why. I am hearing this far too often, scary stuff. My kids are primary age and you worry what they'll face when they're older and going to school on their own. Thanks for the information - good for people to be aware and hopefully more vigilant. -
St Francis Park near Sainsburys has a dog area - don't know if that means they're only allowed in there but you could check. It's a very small park though.

2 more stickered on Avondale, one with a clamp. Also few cars around clamped (guessing road tax or not moved)
-
Two taxis on Ondine Road have signs on saying to move it or it?ll be moved. Wondering how many others may have the same.

We haven't had it as bad but for a while our son when 2 or 3 kept coming in - a friend suggested a bed on our floor - so if he really wouldn't go back in his room he slept on that (old toddler bed mattress) so he was in our room but we could get back to sleep. It was a happy medium I guess. We don't really have him come in now (he's 4.5) but the odd occasion. Sometimes he wants to sleep on his floor (the trusty mattress comes out again). Where possible I always try to think in my head "don't do anything you're not willing to repeat" as I don't think they really realise the difference (e.g. well I was allowed in your bed when I was sick). Always hard though if they're upset or you're half asleep. When we do manage to return him it's because we've offered to cuddle him in his chair first (carefully move to bed when sleepy or asleep) or put him in bed and sing. She's still quite young so you'll have all sorts of things for a while as she gets older, it'll get there. Good luck!

I'd definitely raise stock issues to the store. I have also found low or absent stuff of late so will mention it next time. I worked for Sains a very long time ago (1996) and they had a sales-based ordering system, so if an item was sold it would be added to the next order. They would of course get patterns out of this too. Then the department manager could increase or lower the system-generated order depending on the weather/events/experience etc. I'd be shocked if the system has got worse but maybe they have changed it and it needs a review? If that was my department empty in the photo above even once or twice I would have got an earful from the store manager so for it to be a regular thing it's quite strange.

how much railway noise around ivanhoe/coplestone roads?
Ginster replied to agardner's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was on the other side from railway on Copleston for 8 years, no disturbance -
Bic Basher they're already long gone. Shortest experiment in history!

Yes another here with sluggish Virgin Media in Ondine Road. So painful!

I had a near miss on there as a pedestrian too, I could touch the car jumping back as it passed me! Got the number plate and reported it but nothing happened. I just hoped at least if they were stopped for something else it would be on record but shame more can't be done. I am now even more careful than before and I was quite freaked out as I was on my way to collect my children from nursery so kept thinking what if had been on the way back with the buggy. I am so glad that the Dad you mention was able to keep his buggy and child safe!

For any DIY don't forget you have to dispose of it in a specific way (think it's actually illegal not to. Not that anyone knows that!)

Wet cement on Lordship Lane - no signage
Ginster replied to joustant's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've seen this and it's now a trip hazard! So instead of clearly marking it they'll now have to do the job again (if they ever bother). Glad you managed to get the buggy cleaned. -
Had this when I was selling (I had no idea what it was, mortgage survey found it). Even though it was 60ft from the house in the garden the buyers had to get a new mortgage so reduced their purchase price. I also had to pay for a company to remove it (luckily split with next door as turned out they had it too). The bonus with using them is they offer a 5 year guarantee.
