  1. Hi PeteB, I am Pamela Coates (now Pamela McNamara). I don't remember you but you were probably in a different year. I was friends with Christine Nicholson, also knew a couple of boys - Peter Morris and Paul England. I remember Anthony O'Keefe who was a bit of a bruiser! I was born in 1951 so was at the school, from 1956 to 1962.
  2. Hi Lynda, I don't recognise any of the names unfortunately. My maiden name was Coates. My Dad was called John and my Mum was Barbara. We lived at 189 Friern Road, near the junction with Goodrich Road. The prefabs were fabulous little homes weren't they? Best wishes, Pam
  3. Hi, I remember Valerie Fuller. I was born in 1951 so would have been at the school at a similar time to you. What is your name? I was the smallest pupil in the whole school for the whole duration of my education there !!!
  4. Hi Johnny, Well I don't remember much but Miss Bromley was lovely. And I remember Mr Ibbotson slippering the boys. I was always last in any sports as I was the smallest person in my year (probably in the whole school!!). I hated PE and sports and always tried to get out of them. I don't recognise any of the names you mentioned but I remember the shop. I think I remember a shop called Bradshaws which was on Goodrich Road. I remember the two off licences opposite each other on Goodrich Road too - one run by Mr Cross and the other by Mr Evans. Best wishes, Pam
  5. Hi Johnny, that photo is the only one I have. I'm glad you like it. You must have been in the year above me - I was born in 1951 and started at Heber in 1956. I lived in Friern Road. I remember 2 boys in particular - Paul England and Peter Morris. I was friends with them. I remember that I was neither happy nor unhappy at the school. It was just school! You are welcome to use my picture on your website if you wish. Pam
  6. Hello Jim, I can't remember what the building was I'm afraid. It's great this forum exists - so good to hear other folks views :)
  7. Click on the image to view. I am the one far left at the front, kneeling. This would be between 1958 and 1961
  8. I used to go up Dawsons Hill too. We called it 'the dump'. It was great fun swinging from ropes hung over the branches of the trees. I used to go on my own sometimes - I never thought anything about 'dodgy' men lurking about in those days but I would not want to be up there on my own nowadays!!
  9. I remember Mrs Sissons, the park keeper. I was friends with her grandchildren, Penny and Colin. They lived in Friern Road at the time I knew them (mid to late 1950's). I was terrified of Mrs Sissons as she used to shout at us if we stood on the flowers in her garden!! She used to ring the bell in Dulwich Park when it was time for the park to close.
  10. Hey, I was at this school from 1956 to 1962. I remember Miss Hussy! I would love to know if anyone remembers a Peter Morris, Paul England and Christine Nicholson? My favourite teacher was Miss Bromley. She was nice to me. Pam
