  1. I had a very similar problem (this was 18 months or so ago) - basically a sharp cut into the front wing of my car a few inches above the wheel arch. It was clearly a tail lift or something. It corresponded to bin day from what I remember but could have been any delivery driver, skip lorry etc. etc. so we couldn't do a great deal. Not cheap to put right. Even if you don't get to the bottom of it at least you know that the bastard that did it probably has a pretty shit life driving a diesel powered coffin around for a living.
  2. Have a look at automist - I have just had a system fitted to solve the same problem and can let you know more details if you like.
  3. Yes but he needs to make these statements so it looks like he is at least slightly independent and worthy of his office and pay cheque. It's a thin veneer in my opinion, but also a difficult line in expectation management to tread.
  4. "very high qaulity residneital development" "all maintainance" "consierge service" "communal rooftop gardens or libraries or games rooms" "Often they have gyms and pools too" "close to transport hubs" Sounds like it would be really cheap, definitely in the same market segment as someone struggling to find an extra hundred pounds a month for a regular rental. :)
  5. Police station site (assuming no other buildings being acquired): approx 1850 square metres Goose green site appears to be approx 3400 square metres Heber approx 2700 square metres Source emapsite.com
  6. John Lewis itself is great with kids-top floor restaurant
  7. Our experience was never too soon. Did a rough routine from about 2 weeks old where mini Mac was bathed (every other night), quiet time, just whispered chat while she was feeding, fed and put into Moses basket but stayed with us in the lounge with a sheet over the Moses basket to block out light from TV. Then at about 6 weeks started doing same and putting her our room on her own (with monitor obv) from about 7. She quickly dropped 11pm feed so I was only doing around 2am feed then awake at around 7. She slept through from about 12 weeks (7 to 7).always fed her in her room overnight not in bed so as not to wake daddy. Daytime naps not so strict but made sure she had around 2/3 hours a day so not overtired.
  8. tlc-direct had some when I ordered one earlier - usually next day delivery if in stock or collect from Penge.
  9. You don't need to use the council for building control - independent companies can undertake this work but again need to notify the council prior that a) the work is taking place b) they are acting as your building control In my experience you would only consider this route if the project is particularly complex/multi-phased, uses solutions (fire suppression for example) that the council are not experienced with and therefore are likely to turn down, or you just don't trust them/don't want to hand over any more money to them.
  10. If you know who is doing this do you know what time of day roughly they take the dog out and let it do this - I live off Melbourne Grove and have noticed quite a few piles of sh.t outside my house the past few weeks. I'd like to catch the person in the act. This is on the pavement by the way not in a garden so therefore unlikely to be a fox?
  11. Nothing missing yet but the idiot postperson left a package that wouldn't fit through the letterbox propped up next to our door. Maybe you have a similarly lazy deliverer - I'm surprised it was still there when we got home.
  12. Perhaps this explains how the decisions were really made; from the Southwark website: "The consultation closes on Friday 11 November 2011. The results from the consultation will be reported to Camberwell and Dulwich community councils in January 2011."
  13. Interesting on the limit for permits. What if you are environmentally minded and use hire cars/ car clubs and park outside your house each weekend? Are car clubs exempt from the zoning system?
  14. Sounds like its causing/will cause a lot more stress for the majority of people on the margins here... thus quick extension. Ho hum, more performance targets hit, but that's the cynic in me. On the costs of the permits - Southwark charge ?16 for the first visitor book, and ?32 for second book upwards. Why don't you apply a similar scheme for more than one car per residence, maybe on a higher multiple. Obviously this is not the primary discussion point here but perhaps that would discourage multi car ownership and reduce the burden on the limited space we have available on our streets, and surely contribute to the no doubt carbon / environmental targets that must be in place somewhere...
  15. The document seems to infer that the purpose of the CPZ is to alleviate parking problems caused by people using the station. In which case why isn't the actual boundary of a roughly consistent radius - it extends eastwards a fair way but not southerly - why is this? I live on one of the adjacent streets so am concerned about the effect of parking pushing outwards. However, I am for an all or nothing approach - either capture these streets for, say a 10 minute walk from the station or do nothing at all. ?125 for a permit is only a tank and half of fuel and if I had to pay it for 24/7 CPZ and ease of parking it would be worthwhile.
