  1. I think offering some wider bays further away for the entrance would suffice for a lot of parents. The gaps between the bays are the reason I use those spaces, I would not be averse to having to walk a bit further to use them.
  2. Might not be the direct help you were hoping for but this link might help - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Origin-is-not-running-message-d3382ced-984c6a38-00000000/td-p/4172403 I remember the agony of waiting for my Dad to figure out how to install Earthworm Jim 20 odd years ago so I hope it's helpful!
  3. The crowdfunding has now opened - the link is https://www.spacehive.com/peckham-lido
  4. They should keep with the heritage of this building and call it The Ground Cow
  5. Seems sensible, I cant remember the last time I bought a ticket from the ticket office. With the prevalence of Oyster cards and the fact the ticket office can't top them up they seem increasingly pointless.
  6. The timetables were changed before Christmas and for whatever reason there is no longer a direct train. Might be that this only applies to weekdays though if you got on on Saturday.
  7. I'm not sure how effective it might be, but I recently heard about this podcast designed to bore you to sleep, could be worth a go considering how easy it is to try - http://www.sleepwithmepodcast.com/
  8. It is likely the pictures will be recoverable, the hard drive is usually protected from spillages. It should be reasonably trivial for a computer repair place to remove the drive and copy files over to a new computer or external drive. I'd definitely recommend picking up an external drive and making regular backups when you've got your new machine - will give you some peace of mind should anything like this happen again in the future.
  9. I don't really understand how you can think this is not necessary. Rye Lane is disgusting due to the fly tipping and business waste that lines the pavements. It makes sense to me that someone should be appointed to take charge of stopping it.
  10. Slavek came to my house yesterday to diagnose a fault with my lighting. He found and fixed the problem in under an hour, and gave me advice on how to prevent it happening again. I will be keeping his number in case anything else comes up in future and can recommend his services.
  11. I've been having some very slow speeds wireless, but the same as normal when connected to the router via ethernet. Logged into the router and changed the wireless channel and it's back to normal. Might be worth a go
  12. I'm really looking forward to trying Miss P's ribs as well - they look amazing. I wonder if one day this thread might manage more than five on-topic posts in a row.
  13. it may also be worth posting this on lfgss - a london cycling forum
  14. I read a while ago that they periodically insert red herrings into maps, to allow them to detect any maps that have been directly copied. I seem to recall there was a town name somewhere in London that was Chinese symbols for a few weeks.
  15. I have BT infinity and am just north east of Peckham Rye and get 30mb down, 16 up and 12ms ping (based on a speed test just now). I'm happy with the service and the speeds, but I did have to wait some time for installation (6 weeks I think)
