  1. 500 degrees for pizza! Also really love franklins In the summer I love forzawine in Peckham For Thai do try the begging bowl Italian has to be Artusi
  2. Found- pink wallet, just by the college road entrance to the park, by the loos/near the bike shop. We handed it in at the Francis Peek centre.
  3. Gosh this sounds terrifying. I can only imagine how shaken you must be. I?m thinking of you, and hope your dog recovers quickly, give them an ear scratch from me. Please let us know what the police say.
  4. No, it?s that it?s too similar to ?all lives matter?, a slogan associated with white supremacists and the alt-right, intended to dismiss and diminish the Black Lives Matter movement. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So what is the problem with the slogan? > Is it that all streets do not actually matter > therefore it?s innacurate ? > Is it that the slogan is too similar to ?black > lives matter? slogan and if so, what harm does > that do / is someone saying it?s disrespectful to > the black community ? > Is it that it?s just not cool and original enough > ?
  5. Tone deaf& insensitive slogan choice, as called out by dogkennelhillbilly ... probably tells you all you need to know about the group of people who are part of this ?alliance?.
  6. Just to add to the above as today is the first day back in the gyms! I?ve also trained with Lee for a number of years. He?s really helped me gain confidence in the gym working with the free weights section, and my baseline level of strength has really improved. Over lockdown we?ve done a lot of sessions online but I am really looking forward to getting back to our in person sessions! Over the years I?ve had some issues with my back and Lee has always been mindful of those injuries and has helped to work in a range of exercises to help me build core strength and strengthen the muscles which support my spine, which I really value. I?ve never felt like I am being pushed ?military style? to overload myself or get out ?just one more rep!?, he just gives me a lot of encouragement and positive words to help me with my goals. If you are looking for someone to help you put together a training plan, get you used to using new machines, weights or moves, or just to help you be more accountable, id reccomend working with him.
  7. Also was just about to start a thread - Wandsworth and Lambeth are both running asymptomatic community testing for those living in the borough, but I haven?t seen anything for Southwark.
  8. How did you pay -if on credit card can you lodge a section 75 reclaim for goods/services not received?
  9. Found on East Dulwich Grove - handed in to the front desk at the gym.
  10. I?d be more willing to get behind a petition which requires shoppers to wear masks to protect shop assistants. You don?t wear a mask to protect yourself- you wear it to protect others from you.
  11. Another vote for artusi (my birthday dinner of lockdown) - we had a delicious burrata with peas, cooked fresh pasta (4 mins in boiling water?) then drained and added the sauce as a stir through. For desert a delicious panna cotta and coulis with pistachio biscotti. It was wonderful, opened a nice bottle of red and said lots of ?oh yum?s. Excellent as the nights are getting warmer too - I hope they keep it up post lockdown!!
  12. Thank you for that google document - really helpful.
  13. I?ve heard that you can donate to buy lunch for the NHS staff in tooting and I?d love to do something similar for those in Kings. Perhaps even using some of the local cafes who will also be struggling?
  14. Best bread, best coffee, best brunch and best bostocks. They always seemed to be doing so well and I am so sad to see them go. My heart goes out to them and all those who found out they wouldn?t have a job after Christmas.
  15. It came top on price comparison sites for green energy suppliers for me. We?ve switched, it was painless, and its heaps cheaper than my old (non green) tariff. No complaints.
  16. Yes one visited my garden last night. Didn?t catch sight of it but can confirm from the message left behind that said fox was NOT well 😷
  17. Just a quick update - they are now open and the pizzas are completely delicious!
  18. The phone shop by the station is quick & reasonable, Ive had 2 screens replaced there.
  19. We are having post delivered where blank envelopes appear to be cut or have been ripped among the top so the contents are no longer secure. This has happened 3 times since the ED post office closed, and never before. Nothing which has been opened has been confidential yet, but all could have been - plain white envelopes with a plastic window for name/address. The next time it happens I will be reporting to Royal Mail.
  20. Not as of last weekend - a queue to the top of the ramp at 1pm, and when finally served at 1.45 it was still as long. Someone behind the counter said to a colleague ?well we shut at 2, so we?ll just have to shut the door?.
  21. You could try Crisis at Christmas - supporting rough sleepers over the Christmas period. https://www.crisis.org.uk/get-involved/christmas-volunteering-london/
  22. I hadn't realized that, thank you for pointing it out! I am happy to get behind a local business. I agree with the post above ... this probably isn't the best Thai in London... but it is recognized as being good Thai. I've always enjoyed my meals there. landellsrd Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > By the way guys it?s not a ?donation? have a look > at the link, you can buy cocktails and bar snacks > for two at ?20, a Thai cooking class for ?50, > dinner for 10 for ?500 - there are Kids Group > Cooking classes, a Cocktail Tasting session etc > etc. > Most things are ?20-?50 with a few big ticket > items. > You get something in return for your money, IF > they make their target. > The B.B. have arguably helped kick off the foodie > scene in Peckham, they regularly get reviewed > fondly in the press which in turn helps all the > businesses in the area... if you?d like to > contribute and be part of it, check out the link > below. 23. Cynical me wonders if this has been done to try and ease some of the pressure off the appalling Denmark hill to Farringdon train service....
  24. Oh yum looks like one to try!!!
  25. They have also ceased to take items of furniture (although I think you can still call for collection). I was told this was because they made more money out of clothes and also that people had started to use it as a bit of a ?dumping ground? for things that were unsellable. I understand their position and think it makes sense for them to concentrate on making the most money possible in the space they have ... however I had always taken old towels, bedsheets etc (and yes, old bedside tables and mobile phones in)with the intention they could be ?ragged? and resold for some money, and would also prevent those items from ending up in landfill. Not sure if they would now only accept higher quality clothing, or if mobile phones would still be welcome.
