  1. let's say 10am. I assume there will be another get together in mid Sept for those who cant make it this time x
  2. there is loads of us - have a look at the 'autumn babies club' threads in this section! we might be meeting again this sunday morning at cafe nero see you then x
  3. Having just trained my 2 year old boy I can only say that we (parents) seem to get quite stressed about the whole thing: weeing or pooing on the floor, not being able to take pants down, accidents, going out without a nappy etc. I was trying not to show my son how stressed I was every time he pooed on the floor (I am 8 months pregnant and very sensitive to the smell, so I hated cleaning it up), but I think he sensed it anyway and kept doing it (http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,492933) When I finally relaxed about the whole thing and kept praising him for doing a wee in the potty, he just sat on the potty without any encouragement and pooed. Simple like that ;-) good luck damzel, susyp and everyone else!!!
  4. HEY, BIG DAY: he came to me this morning and said: poo poo, and sat on the the potty and did it. Just like that... We've been putting a nappy on for the last 4 weeks when he wanted a poo, and today he didnt ask for a nappy, just a potty. I think what really helped was us relaxing about the whole thing and not making a big deal about not pooing in the potty. Or maybe he just needed some time to get used to the idea? good luck to anyone trying to potty train. can be hard work but definitely rewarding! :)
  5. hallo everyone, last month in cafe nero we were talking about meeting again in mid-August on a Sunday morning, without kids. Is this Sunday ok?
  6. I second what Pickle said above - we have just been there (my son was trained in June when he was 22 months) and the first 2 days were full of accidents, because he either didn't want to sit on the potty, or didn't make it on time to sit on it etc. But with a lot of praise, clapping and cheering, it all clicked on day 3. It has been 2 months but we still praise him every time he pees it in the potty, and he loves it good luck!
  7. There is a small bookshelf andf a few toys inside the cafe but not a lot of room for them to play, however there is always loads of people with kids so I am sure we can manage. If there isn't too many of us we can go to the play area in the park. see you there x
  8. yes this Sat with kids, and maybe next Sun without kids in cafe nero?
  9. Sat works better for me as my husband is away every Sat so we keep Sundays for family stuff. and morning also better as my 2-year-old still sleeps between 1.30-3 so 2pm not good at all. we can meet around 11 and let them play for a while before giving them lunch. hopefully see you next Sat x
  10. Thanks nunheadmum. A bit depressing that it took months, I was hoping for just a few more days... The signs couldn't be more obvious, Molly. When he needs to go he jumps and screams 'poo poo' for about an hour before he does it on the floor (having held it for at least 2 days!). But he doesn't let me touch him in that hour before... I have tried to put a nappy on and said that it is ok to poo in the nappy, but he doesn't want nappies on - he says he is 'a big boy now'... Anyway I will try the nappy again. Have had just deal with another very stressful hour and the poo on the floor...:(
  11. thanks all for comments and advice. I've tried it all but unfortunately nothing has worked for us yet, he is actually getting worse on the poo front. he eats a lot of fruit and I know he needs to poo every day, but he holds it s long as he can and then just runs away from the potty and does it on the floor. very strange as he is very good with peeing. just need to persevere I think, wait and hope...
  12. Great to meet everyone on Sat and looking forward to seeing you again next month. Cafe nero on sun 8th morning sounds good to me. re meeting with kids, I am always up for a Sat picnic as I am a cricket widow every Sat. Can do the 24th sanity girl (and everyone else who can), and then again 2 or 3 weeks later. There is always going to be someone who can't make but we can always repeat it.
  13. 17 Sept and having a girl
  14. I have bought P&T e3 and am pretty happy with it so far, but would also be interested to hear about the dash model.
  15. I actually bought one today, ?13 from JojoMama on LL - had lots of recommendations from family and friends. Really like the doubling as a toilet seat. and it is do flat it fits even in the phil&teds rubbish shopping basket!
  16. Who told you that your child's poo doesn't smell???!!! I have always reacted badly to it, but it has gone really bad since I got pregnant with no2. I haven't had any morning sickenss but have puked a few times while changing my son's nappy. He is being potty trained now and I always pray for a poo when we are outside so I can cope a bit better. dont we all just love the forum - where else can you talk so openly and honestly about poo?!
  17. I am like sanity girl - I am also wondering how on earth I can manage another two months with a bump like this because this is the 10 weeks we are supposed to grow a lot... I have stopped work and to be honest I envy those who haven't, because running after a 2-year-old boy every day is much worse :( and I am counting weeks, but then again it is not like counting down till a holiday isn't !
  18. sorry for a weird question but our boy (nearly 2) is being potty trained and is doing well with peeing, but he seems to be really freaked out by his poo, and tries to hold it for as long as he can. And when he does it, he looks scared and runs away. I would like to be able to somehow explain to him what poo is and why he needs to do it, but ... no idea how much a two-year old actually underestands, and what the best way of explaining is! any tips welcome please!!!!! quick ! :)
  19. Great that this is still on - see you Sun! x ps. is anyone else fed up with being second-time pregnant yet?!
  20. when I was 6 months pregnant with baby1, I was on holiday in Cape Town and met the head of the local maternity hospital at a party. He was convinced I was having a girl (bump reading). He said he has seen hundreds of bumps in his life and he has never been wrong. I did believe him because he was the head of maternity hospital... and I had a boy! I am now pregnant again and I am carrying exacly the same way this time, have so far had identical pregnancies, not a day of morning sickness and a lot of back pain. and we know it is a girl :)
  21. oh dear can we please not discuss the pain here... I just don't want to think about it yet! lol
  22. hey Ruth big congrats to you and your very new hubby! I have traveled a lot since my son was 6 weeks old (he is nearly 2 now), always with easyjet or ryanair (not because I love them but because they are the only ones flying to tiny places I happen to go to). I have never had any problems taking my maclaren with me all the way to the plane, and leaving it by the plane just before getting on. I will always do it (take the buggy all the way) - once I checked the buggy in and had my 6-month old in a sling, but then the plane was delayed for hours and I ended up with a very sore back and a very grumpy baby. You dont need to pay for a buggy with any of the cheap airlines but other baby equipment is not free. I am now expecting baby2 and dread to travel with two children - but that's a story for a different post! :)
  23. I am 24 weeks with my second and it feels I have been pregnant forever as I have been showing since the 7th week! when I went for the 12th week scan the woman scanning thought I came for the 22nd week scan. I am loving being pregnant but I am hoping to slow down soon, good to hear it has happened to so many of you ladies!
  24. I do have a child (baby2 due 17 Sept) but I am with buggie (post above) - meet ups without children sound somehow much more appealing. Besides Sunday is my only day off from Mummy's duties... But I will understand if it is not possible. Anyway I am putting 11 July in the diary and lets talk details nearer to the time. enjoy the last few weeks with nice bumps before we all get too big and heavy, just in time for hot August :)
  25. I can't believe it is happening again - it is the third or even fourth month in a row when I have only one weekend away booked up, and it is AGAIN the weekend for forum night out! If you decide to do something on ANY other weekend after 6 June pls count me in! x
