  1. Wow, so I shouldn't have bothered then right? I shared the information as I thought it was odd, and as I had only read briefly about it here during the day this seemed the best place to ruminate on it with people more informed than myself. Someone seemingly more rational than others on here suggested I pass it on to the authorities, so I did. If you find that weird, I can live with that.
  2. Sorry, but I'm not sure how giving the colour of his skin is going to help in any way. It could have been a completely innocent incident, so if I tell you it was a short white guy then what, you're going to hunt down white guys feeding cats with malicious intent and ignore everyone else? We aren't vigilantes here, and it is extremely unproductive sharing what could be misleading information. 101 took a full description and have passed it on to the team dealing with it. They are the experts here and will use it to help build a profile or eliminate it as they see fit. If they deem it useful information, they know where they can look for CCTV footagr too. I have also spoken to someone at SNARL. I appreciate this is an extremely emotive topic, but let's be rational here. Vigilance is more helpful than hysteria.
  3. OK, have called 101 and given them the info.
  4. I only read about this today, and obviously wouldn't have thought anything of it otherwise, but was interested to see a young(?) man standing by a wall, apparently offering food to a cat earlier this evening outside a house on Crystal Palace Road, by the corner with Silvester Road. It would have been about 5.45. My bike was playing up, so I had to pull up a little bit further up the road to take a look, but had half an eye out to see whether he was up to anything, or just being friendly. After a minute or so, someone else came down the street and the lad walked off down Silvester Road, but stopped just by the sorting office and seemed to be looking at his phone. After another minute or so, he walked back up to Crystal Palace Road and to the cat. He seemed to be trying to take a picture of it with his phone and talking to it, looking around quite a bit, then a few other people were around on the street and he walked back down Silvester Road. By this point I was pretty suspicious as it didnt look like someone just talking to a passing cat, so I parked my bike up and went to follow him down Silvester Road to see where he'd gone. By the time I'd done that and walked down the road after him he'd gone, presumably into one of the houses. At the time I'd even considered calling 101, but my phone was dead, and I have to say a large part of me felt pretty stupid being so suspicious of someone unnecessarily, but thought I'd mention it here just in case. Someone might even know who it was. Anyway, I didn't get a close look, but would say he was late teens, early twenties, 5'8" - 5'9", skinny, possibly wearing glasses. He was wearing a dark coloured deerstalker type hat, and a baggy tracksuit top with light panels at the sides on the back. He was also carrying a large, empty Sainsbury's bag for life.
  5. I might be interested. What's the guest price for a game? I'm pretty rubbish too but have been meaning to get playing.
  6. No age limit, in fact it is actually an over 30s league which I had completely forgotten about when putting together the team, so it would be good to push up the average if anything! There are 2 matches per team each Monday night between 7pm and 9pm, so everyone should get at least 1 full game even of they cant quite make it for 7. The matches are 20 mins each with 10 minute halves, so not too toiling! Played with referees on astroturf.
  7. Hi Ive been putting a team together for a 5 a side league on Monday nights in East Dulwich, however a few people have bailed at the last minute so am desperately after some players. Ability isnt really an issue, its really just for fun and a bit of exercise. The 10 week league starts 31st March and is played at Dulwich College, but I need to register by Friday. Cost is 37.50 each for the whole season. Let me know if you're interested. John
  8. I was about to make exactly this point. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 13 of them in dulwich. Lets say they are used by > just 20 regulars. Would people be happy if those > 20 people bought cars and took up more spaces?
  9. As lowlander says, the answer is yes - you need to inform them for the reasons described (presuming they are your mortgage lender?). I went through this for my own building work with my bank. They basically just needed a letter on file describing the work and plans etc. There is no reason they should refuse permission, its really just a formality.
