  1. Is there any news on extra trains from Denmark Hill to Victoria, especially at night?

  3. Will there ever be plans to create an entrance/exist at the western end of Peckham Rye, closer to Bellenden Road? Or at least a footbridge at that end, so people can change (like at Highbury & Islington overground) ?
  4. Hi James, I started a thread on the pitiful Victoria - Dartford service ending so ridiculously early (Mon-Sat) and not running on Sundays in the same way. Could you please take a look and let me know if it's something you can help with? cheers
  5. Ok, Blackfriars is useful for the far bottom right corner of the West End. I was thinking predominantly W1 - Oxford St, Soho and so forth, and mainly due to its poor tube links.
  6. I've written my moan to Tfl, Southeastern and National Rail, but I thought I'd flag my annoyance here too. I'm sure it's been done before but I've seen that the new timetable does not improve services on this line in the slightest. I understand some Southeastern Kent services were to stop at Peckham Rye and/or Denmark Hill to compensate the South London line being cancelled, but this has not materialised. My main gripes are: - Last train from Victoria to Denmark Hill and onwards is at 19:39! The other way is 19:28 from DH. - No Sunday service on this specific line (Vic to Dartford) - Trains are every 30 mins except for a short peak of 20 mins. It's hugely popular, and Blackfriars is useless for the West End. Yes, the Blackfriars - Sevenoaks service runs to Victoria on Sundays - why can this not run to Victoria during the week as well every 30 mins during the week and supplement the Dartford train? So DH/PR and Nunhead would get more trains. With the Lewisham A&E malarkey and new lifts/entrance, I see Denmark Hill becoming more and more important for healthcare workers, visitors and patients - many of whom cannot stick to 9-5. You can tell it's a busier station these days, and a lot seem to interchange there too. Also, the area is becoming more popular with people who are likely to commute to work by train, and timetables should evolve to reflect this - as they should to modern working hours, 19:39 from Victoria as a last train is pathetic. Shouldn't some extra services run to compensate this? I read somewhere it'd be 2014 - why does it take so long? What are your thoughts, folk?
  7. Thanks James. DLR projects always seem to be on-time and on-budget, why are tubes so gold-plated? The new Northern line extension seems ridiculous at 1 billion... and you're right about train size. A line to Denmark Hill would be ideal as it interchanges with three overground lines. I'd assume a Peckham line would be along the high st and not at PR station. How would this justify a similar spend without a huge ticket 'regeneration' (read: developer flats) project? Not including Elephant of course, as it's already well connected itself.
  8. Have signed. Problem with Camberwell is the 90 degree turn (admittedly not a first for the Bakerloo!) - so sadly I could it being cut. The cost isn't in tunnelling these days, but in station construction. All need lifts, escalators, and the Jubilee ones usually natural light too. The simplest new underground stations are Bermondsey and Southwark. I'd be interested to know how expensive they were, and usage compared to projected Walworth and Camberwell costs and projected usage.
  9. Is there any update on when trains from Victoria might run later than 19:39? Have emailed SE Trains who've assured me it's gone to their timetable planning manager. Hassled them on twitter too. i suggest many people do the same! It should run to 11/12 and with 4tph.
