  1. Hi everyone, my left airpod (white, Apple, standard) dropped out of my ear last week (15th). It was only a few months old :( If anyone finds one that could be it, let me know? Hope everyone is well. V
  2. Hi everyone, I?m looking for a novice running buddy to help me get fit again! Maybe 3-4 times a week outside working hours in North or West Dulwich (East fine too). I warn you, I?m not fit, I used to be two years ago, expect to be a real puffmonster at first, but I?m hoping you will be at a similar level and we?ll give each other some motivation! I?d love to be more active and healthy (and lose those COVID pounds). Maybe the odd glass of wine or coffee afterwards too! Let me know if of interest.
  3. I booked for Walid to come twice, taking time off work each time and rushing around to be at home. He didn't turn up either time and there was no contact or message to let me know. I had to chase him hours into the agreed slot and then he responded, but there was no apology, nothing. I understand people get busy or held up but contacting your customers is essential - not to mention courteous. Other busy people, beware!

  5. Contact Celia Hammond Lewisham or Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. They will help. New regulations came into force last year that only charities and licensed sellers etc. can sell animals - and that with certain legislation. Most owners who want to pass on their kittens, puppies and so on are lovely and responsible in the way they treat the animals and in who they decide to give their animals to - but still too many instances of neglect and cruelty are being reported - the shelters are full to the brim of these poor animals. So sites like this are being more careful. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/animal-welfare-boosted-by-new-law-coming-into-force
  6. Hi there, my account has been blocked - not sure why. I don't use the EDF very often but I did want to post a couple of items this week. I tried attaching images to draft posts but nothing happened and then I got a message stating that my account has been blocked. Can you help? A huge thanks in advance....
  7. I heard that reporting a dog will show up when you try to sell your property (i.e. that you reported a noise issue) and it could be a deterrent for buyers. I hope you find who is responsible and they either train their dog to stop barking (it's possible), get a dog-sitter, or take their dog out with them more. Good luck.
  8. Hi, having grown up on home-cooked Indian food I am always interested to see what the Indian restaurants in London are like. In my opinion, there are too many in Dulwich and some aren't great - bland and not high quality. However, two stand out from the crowd for me, and that is JAFLONG TANDOORI (not the Jaflong on Lordship Lane, but the one near Goose Green roundabout at 42 East Dulwich Road). Really delicious, a varied menu and friendly, authentic service. We have our monthly book club here and I've never been disappointed. I also like TANDOORI NIGHTS on Lordship Lane - inventive, interesting menu and very respectful staff. A bit pricier, but elegant. The fact I'm now getting the odd delivery from JAFLONG, in addition to our regular meetings there, is testimony to their yummy food I guess!
  9. Hi there, I have a beautiful silver bracelet with a dark green cotton criss-cross embellishment. Sentimental value more than anything. I last had it on Saturday 13th August and I *think* it must have fallen off somewhere between Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and East Dulwich Station or Melbourne Grove. If anyone found or finds it, could you let me know? Thanks in hope....
  10. Hi there I read your message, and the other posts on here about this, and really feel for you Lee. It's your home, your private space, and you're having it regularly and thoughtlessly interrupted and ruined by your neighbour's behaviour. A few years ago I moved house and area because of my neighbour's aggressive behaviour, shouting and swearing (often directed at me - I stood it for seven years and then sold up and came to Dulwich). So I'm hugely sympathetic. The ideal is the noise stopping or Southwark Council acting, and from the sounds of it this will remain in 'ideal' territory i.e. it won't happen, or there'll be even more conflict with your neighbour. After a while, as much as one hates it, one has to go with the realities. So my suggestion is, and you may not like it, but the priority has to be you and your peace of mind... can't you offer to erect the layer or barrier you mentioned on their fence? Some kind of noise-abating substance, I think you called it an 'acoustic baffle', so even if they do kick the ball, the sound is softer and more muffled? Or, if as you say it isn't expensive, offer them half the money to do this? I know this isn't right, and they 'should' stop or do this themselves but if they won't, then this could be the compromise. Not ideal - I appreciate that - but anything to get rid of the sound of that blasted kicking, right? I hope this is helpful - you have my best wishes for a speedy resolution.
  11. Hi there, I'm a local and would like to join you on the 19th if you have spaces available? Can you let me know, Chick?
  12. Oh my word! My garden has been a mess for so long, and I (for the second time) emailed Fernando. He responded very quickly, was available at short notice, and came round. He has managed to do in 7 hours today what most gardeners would take 2 days to do, all of which he has done cheerfully, tidily and at a very reasonable price - he even brings plastic shoe coverings so he doesn't mess up the carpets. He is so trustworthy and sweet as well. I can really recommend Fernando for anyone who needs a thorough job in their garden. He has done weeding and tidying up for me today, but I know he can do and does a lot more. His details are [email protected].
  13. HI Laura, can you confirm your email as I just tried (new client enquiry) and it bounced. I'm interested. Thanks.
  14. Hi Kate Really encouraged by your recommendation and have just got in touch with them, we'll see what they come back with. My job is possibly bigger - loft conversion, two extensions, landscape garden - pretty much a complete house renovation - would you recommend them for this size job too? Thank you - appreciate it.
  15. I've just used Saied from Dulwich Eco Gardening for the first time. He and his team did 2-3 weeks' work on my garden and a number of much-needed small but essential DIY jobs in the house. He was always cheerful, efficient and reliable and made an effort to clean up after himself. The standard of the gardening work was very high - years of neglect from previous owners had left my garden full of weeds, ivy and half-dead trees. It was messy, dark and gloomy. Saied was kind but frank in his assessment of the issues and also got quite excited about the potential of the garden, which was nice to see - he loves his work. The house is now flooded with light and the garden is neat and attractive - all ready for its 'winter sleep' (Saied's terminology!) I will be contacting him in the spring to hear more about his creative ideas to get it looking beautiful. I would recommend Saied - your garden will be in good hands.
