Is there a Covid pass for travel for vaccinated under 16's
ninbi replied to ninbi's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
i've got a letter from the GP with details of pfizer vaccination - hoping that will be OK! -
Hi How does a child show their vaccination status for travel?? Slightly anxious as we're flying on Thursday morning!! My daughter has been vaccinated. At the vaccination centre at St Thomas they told us we could get a covid pass on the NHS app but it won't issue one for her because of her age. NO idea what to do and getting worried!! Anyone managed to leave the country with their vaccinated child?

secure cycle parking at peckham rye station?
ninbi replied to ninbi's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I did see that some of the more narrow metal fixings on the two tier systems had been snipped straight through so I've locked it to the fat ground fastened racks. And noted Annie the overnight danger. I'm going to aim to leave it during repair shop opening hours (covid permitting!) -

Thank you! I'll give it a go! -
I'm starting a new job and need to get to Shepherds Bush a couple of days a week. Don't want to go on the tube so am planning on using the overground, but it means I'll need to leave my bike at Peckham Rye station all day. Last time I looked there was some secure bike parking with CCTV next to the entrance - is that still there and can anyone vouch for its security and ease of use? Thanks!

Thanks for all this - we were going to give Vegas a miss, but can see that GC is a big detour. As for whether we'll be able to do it this summer......... -

Wow thanks so much everyone. That's really helpful. -
Hi there We're optimistically planning a road trip for this summer (with full cancellation options!!), driving a RV from San Francisco down to LA along the Pacific Highway, and then back up to San Fran via Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Has anyone done this in recent years and have any advice they could offer pl? They'll be four of us - me, husband and two teen daughters. Any shared experiences, advice or notes about any aspect from routes, vehicles, what not to miss, budgeting, scheduling - all appreciated!! Thanks!!

Anyone know if any local pubs with big screens are showing it?

Is anywhere fun showing the football tonight? We fancy watching it out somewhere rather than at home.... Should be a great atmosphere whatever the result!

Hi there We?re mid-build and pressure?s on to choose the kitchen finishes....Does anyone have any experience of terrazzo as a worktop surface in their home? We?re considering it for our new kitchen (at HUGE expense it seems!) but before we commit, it would be great to know what to be mindful of, from anyone who has lived with it. And recommendations for suppliers would be very gratefully received! Thanks

We've booked flights to Athens for 8 nights in April. Very excited as our two girls aged 9 and 10, are Ancient Greece nuts! So we're thinking of 4 nights in Athens itself, and then 4 nights chilling on an island, but don't know which island to go for - not too far so we only spend a few hours on internal travel.. Does anyone have any recommendations for islands, accommodations, things to do/avoid etc pl? Thanks! N

My two daughters went twice last year with varied results! First time was at Easter for the taster - two nights in Sussex/Surrey. They were aged 8 and 9 at the time and they each went with a school friend, so they were a little gang of four (safety in numbers!). They came back having had a brilliant time, and were raving about all the fun and freedom they'd enjoyed. Off the back of that we booked a week in Dorset in the summer, for them. For that trip there were 5 of them but it was much less successful. The 5th (new) member of the group pretty much hated it on arrival and called home repeatedly until her parents went to collect her early. This proved quite disruptive for the others so they all came back saying it was so-so, they didn't like the food, it was 'boring' etc. So my lessons learnt are that going with a friend is a good thing (and the special offers are aplenty for booking more than one child). And trying it out with a couple of nights in the first instance worked well. I do think that if we'd stuck to our original foursome, the second trip would have been more successful, but sending a 9 year old away for a week without any shorter introduction to the PGL experience, was probably a bit much for her. Hope that helps!

Help! Garden office company wanted

My daughter wants a "writing shed" - much like described and pictured. I'd be really interested in how much it would cost for a basic model, but insulated so it can be furnished with a beanbag, bookshelf, desk and chair; with electrics and warm enough to write in over autumn (or even winter if we put a wood burner in!) Could anyone give me an idea of costs please - and how to keep costs down? Thanks! -
Picking this thread up, if anyone's still on it! Our neighbours had some work done which has caused movement on our patio so a whole row of patio is now uneven and wobbly because a crack has opened up beneath. The joint surveyor who drew up the party wall agreement before their work was carried out has inspected it and judged it be their responsibility to rectify the damage, and has been writing to them and leaving messages but getting no response. What do you do when neighbours simply ignore the surveyor and don't repair damage? Small claims court feels extreme but I'm not sure what other options we have.

Oh yes I know, but this was all in Clarks sizes!

Did they use the new tablet-based wifi measuring system? The Peckham store (factory outlet) has always been v reliable - and cheap! - but they've just changed their measuring system to one were the child selects which character they want to be (!). It was so clearly wrong that the assistant re-measured but she didn't seem sure so I went to John Lewis where they measured both children's feet up to a size longer and wider!
