Hi, My daughter (2.5 years old) is starting at Dulwich Montessori in September and I was wondering if anyone else starting at the same time (or already at the setting) would like to meet up for play dates? Please PM me =)

Hi, I am looking for nurseries / pre-schools which offer half days (something like 9-12pm) around SE22 or SE23 for a 3 year old. I've searched around and most of them offer full days only.. Would you please share recommendations? Thanks!

No, not received any more info unfortunately..

Hi, I've heard lots of wonderful things about Forest Nurseries but I don't think there is one in the area? It looks like there is one in Blackheath but looking for something more local. If you are aware of any, it would be great if you could PM me. Thanks so much x

Hi A quick question about Forest Hill pools please... If I want to take my baby with me, can I just go for any "General Swim" sessions? I didn't see any specific "Baby swim" sessions... Also, is the pool warm enough for babies? If the pool is not very warm, any other pool suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks xx

Hi, We are looking for some lovely toddler classes to go on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. We used to go to Gymboree, Baby Sensory and Swimming classes but want to try something different. Any suggestions please? Preferably things that are close to Honor Oak Park. Thanks xx

I am not related to any of the children you mentioned or nannies but I just wanted to say that you are doing the right thing by posting on here and it is definitely not an overreaction. I recently put my daughter with a childminder and to ever think that my child was neglected to cry for nearly an hour, it makes my heart bleed. Also, as you mentioned, if the nanny does this in public space, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors... I hope the parents of the little girl read this post and take appropriate action.

Thanks Otta. I don't intend to make any music so it sounds like Android for me. Thanks Ratty too!

Hi, I've been putting off buying a tablet for a long time and I think I'm giving in now... I have Galaxy S5 phone and spend way too much time on my small phone screen so I might as well get a tablet. The question is...should I get iPad Air or Galaxy Tab the latest version? I know that iPad is the go-to tablet for anyone, it's easy to use, I won't have to worry about virus, it's cool, but the only downside is the IOS / I-tune system. I used to use iPhone and never got used to the whole sync / transferring file / etc on IOS. Android is easy to use when I want to transfer photos or music between my laptop and also to a SD card as well... In terms of price, I think Galaxy tab is slightly cheaper but not by much. Which would you recommend? I'll mainly use it for surfing net, watch stuff on Netflix, downloading movies for travelling, online shopping, texting with friends, etc. Thank you!

I'm pregnant with my first baby and my friends / colleagues advised that I should start looking into childcare while pregnant as I may not have time and energy after the birth. Also, many nurseries have long waiting lists. I do understand about the nurseries, but how about Nanny Share or Childminder? I wouldn't know if they will have availability at the time I would need childcare? At the moment, I'm not even sure how many months of maternity leave I will take. Should I look into nurseries now and leave nanny share or childminder searching till later? As you can see I have not made my mind up about which I'd go for (nursery vs childminder vs nanny share)... Thanks!

Just a quick question please... Is your mortgage broker responsible for reminding you when your mortgage comes up for renewal? Mine didn't and I went too close to applying for a remortgage so I'm having to pay few hundreds pounds extra as my rate has gone back to the standard rate.

Anyone having no water supply issue in HOP area? We had no supply since late last night.

Thanks all for your comments. Still confused as to what would work the best for us but i guess we will never have an easy answer to that question anyway. One thing that I am concerned about nannies is the whole admin side of it (i.e. giving them holidays, paying national insurance, etc). For nanny share, does one family normally take care of all the admin side and the other family pays monthly charge or do both families need to be involved?

I'm expecting my first baby soon and I am planning to go back to work full time after 8-9 months. I was planning to go for nursery option (as opposed to childminder or nanny), but now I'm thinking about nanny share also. I know that all nuseries / nannies charge different fees but in general, are the costs comparable or is nursery still a cheaper option? I am interested in the all-in cost including food, activities, etc. Also, what is your opinion on mixing them two? e.g. nursery 3 days, shared nanny 2 days? Thanks!

Great, I'll check out both Warren Evans and John Lewis!

I'm thinking of buying a new mattress for my kind size bed. Currently have a memory foam mattress but we find it too soft. Any recommendations on where I should buy it from? I can only think of Silent night...

Hi, I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant and started to have signs of pelvic girdle pain... Heard Pregnancy Pilates can help. Could you please recommend one local to Honor Oak Park? Many thanks!
