It's probably more efficient for the cops to wait for her to get passively spotted by ANPR patrols than it is to try and proactively track her down.
  2. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Quatro was my favourite... think it disappeared in > the late 80s. Good call Jeremy. I was about to post the same. Quatro reminds me of swimming classes at South Norwood pool. Always followed by a can of sugary goodness.
  3. Great links, I'll pass them on. Thanks Numbers. I'm back out there in April so should get to try the results.

  5. After reading this thread I gave in to gluttony and went to the work canteen for double bacon and black pudding sandwich with brown sauce. Stuffed.
  6. Has anybody got a tried and tested recipe for battered fried fish? My (French) brother in law is addicted to British fish & chips and now wants to make this in his alpine restaurant, serving a mix of locals and Brit skiers. There are many recipes online but thought I'd seek out the collective wisdom of the EDF gourmands. I'm trying to convince him to serve mushy peas as well.
  7. Water, painkillers/alka seltzer, a banana, 2 cups of tea. I'm normally a keen coffee drinker - 3 espressos to get me out the door in the morning, but I can't touch the stuff when hungover. And a second sleep is absolutely vital, otherwise try to eat something with a bit of fat & carb - Jah's toastie and Sriracha is a great idea.
  8. Echo sentiments about location and avoiding Times Square... We stayed at The Sohotel in Little Italy/Chinatown back in 2010. It's a decent 'budget boutique', good location in the LES, close to metro stations, lots of bars and restaurants on your doorstep and a nice stroll across to Brooklyn . It has a good mix of rooms, though some can be a small, but as MrBen says, you won't (shouldn't) be spending much time in your room. Try to take a room at the back of the building if you enjoy relative peace - because the building is low-rise it took me a night or 2 to get to used to the seemingly endless NYC street/city/traffic noise, but once I'd adjusted it wasn't a problem. http://www.thesohotel.com/rooms.html
  9. El-Pibe (no relation to the aforementioned rapper/producer?) , I hear your concerns re middle age vs Rap - went to see RTJ in Brixton and at times felt more than a wee bit older than some of the crowd...and if you were listening to similar stuff in the 90's you're maybe already familiar with El-P as part of Company Flow/Cannibal Ox?
  10. Run The Jewels by Run The Jewels (El-P & Killer Mike) gets my vote. Released last year for free DL, it gets it's UK physical release on Monday and has just been voted 5/5 by Alex Petridis in the Guardian. It's rap but (probably) not as you know it. Good to see Baths get a mention! E2A link: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jan/09/run-the-jewels-review?CMP=twt_gu
  11. Sainsbos on DKH had them yesterday. Not sure about any small local shops though SMBS would be the obvious guess.

    Bitcoin

Haven't got any myself and feel that I've missed the boat, even after the value has dropped to ?250 or thereabouts... I'll probably read this in a couple of years and kick myself... I have read repeated advice that you should store your bitcoins/wallet offline on a portable drive, rather than on your desktop device.
  13. What about the comments? Cool vid btw.

I've never heard anyone whinge about it either, but equally I've never seen anyone but you mention how it's a good thing. I imagine that most motorcyclists want access to the boxes not for reasons of safety or self preservation, but mostly so that they can tear off the line without being impeded by cars. Please, lets keep them for cyclists. It's really not that difficult to avoid crossing the line.
  16. I am not against driving at all, and believe that this is good for the economy and for the wealth of the nation. However I feel that as a regular cyclist, I sometimes feel totally afraid when cycling, beacuse during the rush hour you have motorists overtaking you in the non-cycle lanes (fine) and undercutting on the inside left off the slower traffic. Not only this they cut in front of you while you are moving and cut across you to turn left with scant indication of their intentions. I have not mentioned the red light transgressions I have seen when a motorist is speeding through traffic just to pass the red light to get ahead and save a few valuable seconds just to get caught at the next set of lights. I have sat at light in an ASL zone, centred and intending to continue straight on and when I checked behind all was was clear, and most drivers were ok and let me go, but a driver who was on the inside lane whizzed past me and turned left in front of me and sped off. Luckily I saw him in time, but then it would have been me at fault #bloodycyclists. I feel that there needs to be some regulation or training for drivers or some sort of identification methods to monitor rogue drivers (irony alert - there already is yet it doesn't stop some drivers behaving dangerously) As they are road users and they request the same rights privileges as other road user, but some do not want to adere to basic traffic regulations. Remember they are using the highways for free, yet we are paying for it's maintainance. I would love to hear your views.
  17. I've played on the sandy stretch in Dulwich Park that AM refers to - it's ok, not perfect and you tend to get in the way of joggers and suchlike. Brockwell Park has the huge redgra football pitch which we've adopted as our home turf and is a great terrain as it can vary quite a lot within the space of a few metres and so keeps you on top of your game... Otherwise, there's Cleaver Square in Kennington, which although not the best quality terrain, has the bonus of a lovely pub and a lot of regular players. Bermondsey Square also a has a purpose built strip of terrain, though only big enough for 1 game. I seem to remember that The Dog had a piste in its garden some many years back, but this has long been replaced by tables and chairs. Please post back if you find anywhere else.

This would be very similar to my day, but replacing garden jinx with time spent making music and late telly with with an xbox session. The negroni, food and bottle of red are absolutely spot =on.

    craft beer

A while back the Draft House had some delicious 'Left Hand Milk Stout' from San francisco. It wasn't cheap but was very tasty and I highly recommended if you see it.

Quite. I learned to ride on the road when I was 10 or 11 and given the size of some 14/15 year olds, I'd rather not see them riding on pavements. Given the aim of this thread was to encourage people to cycle, Loz and e-dealer's ideas are very much out of place.

Egg Boss scotch eggs are definitely worth a try, if you're not already acquainted, - in particular the black pudding and the hot sauce varieties. They cost ?6-?12 per egg (in real money that's ?2.50 per egg or 3 for ?6, I believe).
  23. Louisa, you've made the same joke in 2 consecutive posts. It's not like you to bang your drum ad nauseum... Anyway, despite the awful food served up at Manzes, at least you'll be in good company - Jim Davidson is a regular! http://manze.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=display&ref=F_F&sid=v610v71085v69ia9533724x0e7j2c6u8
  24. Manze's is pretty grim, if my last couple of experiences are anything to go by. I'd much rather have a ?6 burger(It'll cost around ?10-?12 in Louisa's old money) than a couple of dry, mystery meat pies, 2 scoops of lumpy mash all covered in a gelatinous "secret' sauce.
  25. I got a ticket there once, some years ago when new to the area. I've never done it since. E2A: I cycle up/down rye lane every day and quite often still see motorists going straight on. I used to gently tap on their windows and advise them but got too many drivers giving a mouthful of abuse or aggressively asking me what I was doing "banging" on their window, that I now think "Fuck 'em".
