  1. Thanks Malumbu and similar views on this point. Either agreed with cycle proposals or agreed and stated the concerns such as around the floating bus stops dependant on how much space will be available for pedestrians around what is usually an extremely busy bus stop
  2. Getting back to the topic at hand the final day for submissions is this week so please respond asap. I've lived on the Dulwich, Peckham & Nunhead sides of the park over 20 years so feel well qualified to say that the plans though noble in aim, are ill thought out and will be inferior to the current layout in many respects. The major issues I can see are; Peckham Rye North East side rarely has delays of note, however closing it off for a bus lane to speed up journeys is disingenuous. I see 3 reasons why. Vehicles heading south will have less spread, leading to the backing up all the way to Rye Lane & Copeland road (All busses). Vehicles heading north from Nunhead Lane, will only have option to turn up Peckham Rye west side (especially with Scylla plans) already the busier side, causing greater flow towards East Dulwich Road junctions between the two Park lights. This section will be so busy that will also counterintuitively cause bus times (37, 484) to be slower. Traffic crossing right will also have knock on issues for ED Road (West to East) where currently no real issue exists. These plans cause all residents of Whorlton & part of Scylla to be isolated and forced to head north to the gyratory (right across the proposed lane)creating another unnecessary load, and again counterintuitively creating slow downs for the busses (37, 78 343, P12) If there are roadworks on East Dulwich road, that we have seen a lot of in the last few years, then there is no redundancy in the system, causing all modes of transport to again be adversely affected. I'm often a pedestrian, cyclist & motorist across this junction so am all up for real improvements, especially a resurface of the road. Though this plan is anything but that, please make your thoughts known to Southwark today. https://engage.southwark.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/peckham-rye-gyratory-bus-improvements/surveys/new?phase_id=ee1dc2ef-9b4e-42af-b211-62cebdfe9fa7 Thanks
  3. Misdirected mail also seems to be a big issue. I?d understand simple mistakes, but I?ve had to act as local postie a few times this year where both the number, road & postcode were completely different to my own. Really strikes me as both inept and incredibly idle.
  4. O2 Quite obviously do not care about customers in our corner of London. I left for EE last year and I?m happy to finally be getting the service I pay for. Wife left O2 for 3 and that network also seems to be strong.
  5. Would?ve been 100% up for supporting this suggestion, glad to see they?re putting some plans into action. Let?s hope they still put part of this into action, at this time of year that section from ED road to Nunhead Lane spends half the week underwater.
  6. In spite of Uber?s numerous shortcomings, as a south Londoner I will not shed a tear on the black cabbies demise. Waiting for up to half hour in all weathers, to be told I?m not going that way, back-breakingly hard suspension, and paying through the nose for the privilege - not at all where we should be in 2019
  7. Terrible news, I passed through there in a cab just minutes before, it was really quiet not many people out all, perhaps due to the rain. So shocke that could?ve happened so soon after.
  8. First the football club, now the sorting office. I dread to ponder what will be sold off next in the pursuit of profit from property.
  9. According to this source from two years back, we can expect 6tph to Crystal Palace in 2018. 6tph to Clappie J from 2019. I believe this will happen seeing that the expected improvements scheduled for 2016 and 2017 were pretty much spot on. https://anonw.com/2015/10/14/increased-frequencies-to-the-east-london-line/
  10. A reminder to take the online survey soon if you haven't already done this. Only take a few minutes https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/camberwell-grove-bridge/ The benefits to reopening the bridge vastly outweigh the negatives, including delays to P13 on Bellenden, snarl ups by the school on Lyndhurst Grove so narrow it that can't take extra traffic, and extra pressures on Camberwell Green and Peckham High Road.
  11. You have basically encapsulated my entire thoughts on the place Robbin. Went in once, nice selection of teas, service took an age and unhelpful. For the price and the only reasonable quality of produce never went back again... robbin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Went once - thought the service was less than > adequate and the food wasn't great, although the > tea was quite nice. 12. Sounds like it could have been the British Pullman or the Orient Express which depart from Victoria. Always special seeing one of those pass through. http://www.belmond.com/british-pullman-train/luxury-train-travel
  13. http://www.dulwichsociety.com/2013-winter/959-adon-mount No pictures, but a bit of insight to the area.
  14. There is also a honey bee hive in the community garden area of Peckham Rye park, it's only open for a few hours each day, completely found it by accident the other day.
  15. Anyone who thinks the shops around Peckham Rye station currently befits an important South London interchange needs their head examining. It is dark, dingy and very busy by where the bus stop is. Fantastic idea to open up the entire square up as it is a very attractive building, that doesn't deserve to be hidden.
  16. Two people that I knew didn't live there were messing with the lock on the door to a basement flat, whilst another guy was on the drive nearby the pavement acting as a lookout. It was very obvious they were up to no good.
  17. After suffering the pain of a break in a few years ago, I couldn't have just let it happen under my nose. Saying that I'd probably have achieved a bit more in the long run if I'd just taken video footage from my window as it is hard to give a detailed description of the suspects with the adrenaline flowing.
  18. Just to warn people of the gardens to be vigilant, saw 3 young guys attempt to burgle a property in this afternoon, managed to scare them off, after saying I've called the police. They were initially shocked but my intervention then became threatening. Police were great, and said others had also called them in though by the time they arrived they had already left the area, on a plus side the break was averted.
