Can we talk about Christmas presents?!?
Nunheadfamily replied to snowboarder's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The myraid marble run is on my list, i love it! Expensive but sure it is the kind of game everyone will enjoy sharing young and old. -
Definitely Ariadna, we went to her classes over the summer. Shorter course than the NCT but same content. Ariadna is very personable and approachable. We had a great home birth for our first born and are thankful for the guidance and practical advice Ariadna gave. I would recommend the saturday classes as not as tired and time for shared lunches afterwards. Do PM if you have any other questions.

Aspergers child and secondary school 'choices'
Nunheadfamily replied to hpsaucey's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I reckon it would be still worth trying for a statement as new legalisation has come in this year which covers support from 0-25years which is important if you son goes on to further education post 16 and needs support with accessing this which I would have thought would be relevant with your son having a diagnosis of Aspergers. The new code of practice has a strong focus on your and your son's wishes with the local authority needing to set out in one place information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disabled, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. In setting out what they ?expect to be available?, local authorities should include provision which they believe will actually be available. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25 -

Kids company have a volunteer pool as well as mentoring opportunities, any experience with teenagers with emotional and behavioural difficulties will be looked on favourably in the adoption process as much of what presents in those years relates to early care. http://www.kidsco.org.uk/volunteer Siblings together is a great organisation promoting children who have been separated through care/adoption, they do activities at the weekend as well as holiday camps. The lady who leads the organisation is an art therapist so encourages the children to connect through creativity. http://siblingstogether.co.uk

I think City Lit runs the the full range of courses, from intro to fully trained. Bromley college also do courses but I'm not sure what range is available. Another option are courses with the Tavistock, leading service in the Uk http://www.tavistockandportman.nhs.uk/training/courses/introduction-counselling-and-psychotherapy-d12
