Bumped this as a reminder to avoid Yodel. Delivery due yesterday between 14:43-16:43. I'm in all day. Initially couldn't track but at about 16:30 the map appeared & the van was moving around the surrounding street. I was delivery 107 of 148. At about 21:00 the van seemed to stop on Bellenden Road by Danby Street & at about 21:30 the message changed to delivered & then to delivered at 15:43. Exactly in the middle of the initial estimate! Standard web chat with Yodel this morning. Yes it was delivered, are you sure it isnt with a neighbour, someone else in your household etc. So if anyone in the Bellenden Road area comes across 2 7.5kg bags of kitten food they belong to Trevor, Batty Bertie & Sid & they are very hungry.

Mobile signal, Nunhead and East Dulwich
dresswaves replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
O2 are constantly saying a mast is 'down'. I haven't had a good signal, 2bars or more, for many months anywhere in the Bellenden to Adys Road area. My elderly mum also lives in this area & I care for her daily. I'm always missing important calls from District Nurses etc. If I knew of a more reliable carrier I'd change tomorrow as O2 don't seem to think it's a problem. -
Also seems to make a difference what postperson you have. I'm in SE15, Highshore Road always been my Sorting Office. We have a lovely postman, see him most days and Christmas post has been fine, received all the cards I expected. My Mum, a couple of streets away, still in SE15 but different route has had hardly any post since November. Doesn't seem to have a regular postperson, the postwoman who used to deliver hasn't been seen recently. One Christmas card arrived late November and then none until 3 came on 29th Dec postmarked 18th Dec. She normally gets about 25 cards. It's her 92nd birthday on Monday, I doubt she'll get any cards in the post.

Yes knocked on my door also on Ondine. Was messing about with his phone all the time & saying how difficult it was to get a cab. Said he was from Newcastle & and had been in prison. When I said I didn?t do any business on the door he said I was being rude. I laughed & told him I was just saving him time & shut the door. The only reason I answered the door was it looked like he had a big AMazon delivery bag on his back so I thought it was a delivery.

Details of local Covid vaccination plans?
dresswaves replied to drewd's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Took my 91 year old Mum to The Tessa Jowell medical centre for the 1st injection. All very efficient with lots of staff and lots of people having the jab. In total there for about 30 mins & left with appointment for 2nd injection. Mum?s with The Gardens GP & we received a text message asking if she wanted the vaccine & then a phone call for the appointment. -

Free Travel (Freedom Pass) Over 60's Suspended
dresswaves replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
From Sadiq Khan?s Facebook page. The Government has issued a statement on the TfL funding deal which, in keeping with the highly political way they conducted these negotiations, is at best misleading. I want to set the record straight: 1. TfL?s finances were in much better shape immediately before Covid-19 than the mess I inherited from the Prime Minister when he left City Hall. Over the past four years we have reduced TfL?s operating deficit by 71 per cent on a like-for-like basis and increased cash reserves by 16 per cent. Like-for-like operating costs have fallen each year, which had never happened before. And as well as slashing the deficit, this efficiency has funded the freezing of TfL fares for four years. The only reason TfL is now in financial difficulties, just like every transport operator, is because our fares income has fallen by 90 per cent during lockdown. The significant efficiencies delivered during my Mayoralty have in fact reduced the amount of government support required in these unprecedented circumstances. 2. The Government insisted as part of the deal that TfL immediately bring back the congestion charge and ULEZ and urgently bring forward proposals to widen the scope and levels of these charges. This will help stop our roads becoming unusably congested - but it was a Government red line. 3. The Government also insisted that Londoners? fares must go up above inflation next year, that TfL must suspend free travel for Freedom Pass and 60 plus card holders during peak times, and for under 18s all the time. After lobbying from TfL over the weekend the Government has now finally agreed that this will not apply to disabled Freedom Pass holders. 4. As the Government?s statement sets out, they have agreed similar finance packages for every other transport authority in the UK - but have not insisted on punishing their citizens in return in the same ways they have Londoners. The Government has made ordinary Londoners pay a very high price for the consequences of doing the right thing on Covid-19. I am very happy for the Government to publish the full funding deal - which clearly demonstrates this to be true. -

Shared from another COVID support page Hi all this is a request from Kings College Hospital coming from one of our members working there: ?Message from King's College Hospital London Can you share this around the parents you know locally pls? Audio only baby monitors needed for COVID-19 response. Hi all, I work for King's College Hospital London and my current role is trying to source things the hospital need to deal with the COVID19 response. Because of all the PPE equipment that is required and the isolation that is happening between rooms, the nurses are finding it hard to communicate between rooms. One of the hospitals came up with a great idea to use baby monitors as the staff then don't have to mess around with pressing buttons in all their gear. As such I am trying to collect any used baby monitors - they must be in good condition, to give to the wards who are struggling with this issue. I live in Bow and my partner is furloughed so she could come and collect any close by, or if you are further than walking distance and could drive here to drop them that would be great! if you could help then you can either email me to k.betts1@nhs.net or text or call my partner Noelia on 07572 087 063. I need to get them there asap so ideally in the next few days if you do have a monitor you no longer need. THANK YOU!?

The carp in the pond on Peckham Rye
dresswaves replied to edlongterm's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I haven't seen them recently, the main pond did have plenty of very large fish which weren't obvious unless you looked very closely & then they could be seen just below the surface. Also love to see the terrapins. -

Southwark?s announcement at the weekend was that playgrounds & other areas that could be locked WITHIN parks would be locked, not the parks themselves. Like Chinese whispers this spread around to say parks would be locked. I was walking a dog in Peckham Rye Park & it was in no way crowded & everyone was being sensible & keeping a 2m distance.

JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This morning was the Over 70s and Vulnerable > people 1 hour shop at DKH. The queues were just to park as the car park was full

I went in to car park at 8 this morning. Car Park full, like Christmas. Drove straight out & queue of cars was waiting to get in. Went to Morrisons. Car park not so busy. Managed to get most things my mum & aunt wanted. No loo roll, flour, bread low, tinned goods low. Long queues at check going right down the aisles but moving. A fight broke out at the front of our queue. I would suggest avoiding all large supermarkets if you possibly can. Lordship Lane Co Op, low on stock, no queues. M&S fairly well stocked but long queues.M&S by station well stocked & no queues. Independents seem fairly well stocked but some long queues.
-
Got some shopping in for my mum this morning. At Morrison at 8:30 it was busier than usual but there was plenty of fruit & veg. No loo rolls & some gaps but managed to get a good range of food. Lordship Lane at about 10 seemed fairly normal, plenty of people in Costa?s! CoOp had reasonable stock.

Trouble Trying To Buy A CPZ Parking Permit On-Line?

You can only register & apply for a permit if your street is in the West Peckham CPZ. This CPZ goes live at the end of the month. Doesn?t seem to be a date yet for the East Dulwich CPZ -
